Barring any illness, what is Alex's schedule for July 4th weekend?  I want to go, but want to see him.  Thanks.

You may want to check Will Blum's tweets to be sure. (It won't tell you about the other covers, but it'll give you an idea.) https://twitter.com/will_blum

For what it's worth Alex is amazing in the role, but Will is also REALLY good.

Invariably people come in pissed that Alex isn't in and leave very happy that they've seen Will.

It is a great show with either of them! You won't be disappointed.

While I appreciate and respect PThespian's continued support for the show, I have to disagree here.

I went on a Saturday night in January and Alex was out. I was annoyed, the majority of people sitting near me were annoyed.

I didn't leave happy. I left at intermission.

You didn't see Will Blum, though.

He just joined the cast this month.

So annoying he misses so many performances it seems. That's why I won't buy a seat in advance now. If anything, I wish they would just put an official schedule out so we know who to expect and when.

Oh FFS just go see it with Will! It's a good show and he's more than great.

Like I said Alex if he is in, and Will if he's not are both great. Go and enjoy!

Will Blum seems to be the 1st cover now. He's also be going on quite a bit. Seems like Brightman is only doing 5 shows a week now.

A Chorus Line played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013.

Friend was at the show last night and says "the lead was replaced after intermission." Plus Blum's Twitter says he's going on for today's matinee. Not saying that means anything for this weekend, but that's this week up until now, for what it's worth.

Which 5 shows?

definitely the Wed. & Sat. matinees. Plus an additional evening show. Last week Blum did all 8 shows. Nothing's posted on Blum's twitter about this weekend.

Considering Alex Brightman has claimed the role has caused him to loose 50lbs since performances began at the end of October, it must be one of the most physically demanding roles in Broadway history. This is especially true when the role  of Dewey is supposed to be performed by an "out of shape" and overweight actor. This role honestly cannot be that healthy to perform 8 x a week for prolonged periods of time if the production is to stay true to the source material when it comes to casting. I wonder if the producers have put Brightman on the Tracy Turnblad diet as the roles have similar casting problems, which would only make his health worse.

I'm not sure who told you that but Will did not do all eight shows last week. I swear to you.

Also I'm not sure who told you about what shows he takes off.

Since I do the understudy inserts every time he is out, and watch the show, I can tell you that's not quite accurate.

I wish Blum had done all eight shows last week, but Merritt David Janes performed at our matinee on Wednesday, June 22nd.

sorry, but I knew Brightman was out all last week and it wasn't a scheduled absence/vacation. Didn't know Janes performed one of the shows.

That is also incorrect. I'm not sure who your source is, but it's clearly not someone who works at the show.

SOR is such an overrated show (and Brightman was there when I watched it lol probably before his absenteeism issue!))  Left even before Act I ended!!! My opinion of course!!

PS: And I just want to say I love the block feature!!!)

We're aware. Fortunately you're in the minority.

We are bringing in over $1M a week, have standing room only virtually every performance, and attract an audience from a wide demographic who go crazy for the show. We also have a not insignificant amount of repeat visitors.

In all my years working the aisle this is probably the best show I've ever worked as far as audience's reactions to it goes.
