Last week, while visiting London, I was lucky to see this musical.  The show may be childish, but the emotions are real and I couldn’t resist its enchantments. This is a perfect oiled show and probably Disney’s best stage production ever!

Nice! Glad you enjoyed it.  I personally thought it was a bit cheap looking at parts (too many cloth sets and not nearly as many illusions as they could have done)

However - it may be worth pointing out that Proud of Your Boy (and other songs: Babkak, Omar Aladdin, Kassim and High Adventure) were originally written by Alan and Howard Ashman for the film.  

The film was always going to be a 1940s Bing Crosby buddy-style musical (much like the stage musical) but then Howard died and ... etc etc. That's why Friend Like Me often stands out like a sore thumb in the film for being the only Cab Calloway/Fats Waller style song!
