I was never into the show, but for those of you who care, good for you. http://www.ew.com/article/2016/06/10/nashville-season-5-cmt

The better news is that they're getting a FULL 22 episode season and not some bullish*t 13 episode order.

YES--I only hope they held on to Once and Again and My So-Called Life co-creators Herskovitz/Zwick as new showrunners as they had lined up on ABC.

I'm so happy about this! Love Nashville...now just need to figure out which channel CMT is.

Marie: Don't be in such a hurry about that pretty little chippy in Frisco. Tony: Eh, she's a no chip!

WhizzerMarvin, CMT stands for Country Music Television.

Jordan Catalano, Nashville has always had either 21 or 22 episodes, never fewer.

I know what CMT stands for. I meant I don't know what channel number it is (or if I even get it). Luckily the eps will go up on Hulu just like they did when it was on ABC.

Yes, but 13 is the cable standard (which CMT is). This is a pretty rare case of keeping a broadcast episode count on a cable budget

Exactly. A "full season" of 20+ episodes is not the norm for any network outside of the big 4.

I hope the original cast stays with it.

According to the article in the first post, Zwick and Herskowitz have been retained in their new positions. I can't wait to see what they will do! NASHVILLE is my primary "guilty pleasure" on TV, but that team could promote it to a "pleasure".

We watched most episodes. My wife was in mourning when canceled!

How many of you want to bet that after this season on CMT it's a goner?

Gaveston I missed that--very excited to hear what they do.

Carlos--prob right but I'd be fine with that.  To its advantage apparently CMT is happy with getting very small rating numbers--but even if some of the cast leaves it can't be a cheap show to do.
