Having seen the original Company, her rendition of Getting Married Today was one of the high points of the show.

R.I.P.She will be missed

As Amy, which is virtually actor-proof, Beth Howland gave a classic comedy performance. She was pretty funny in Alice too.

"Thank. You. God. Now explain it to HIM!"

Nailed it.

This crap is happening to often.  74 is much too young.  Rats

(and yes, there will be other Companys -- but she was and will always be the definitional Amy)

The article mentioned the delay in the notice was at Beth's request, but did not go into detail about the reasoning.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

The cause was lung cancer, her husband, the actor Charles Kimbrough, said, adding that she had not wanted a funeral or a memorial service.

“It was the Boston side of her personality coming out,” Mr. Kimbrough said. “She didn’t want to make a fuss.”

Sorry to learn of her passing.  She was a very likable, unique talent.  Sympathies to her family.

It is amazing that her husband was able to keep her death out of the press for 5 months! Kudos to him. RIP
