Is 'search' not working for you too?

I keep searching for old threads - some of them quite recent - and get no results when using the board's search function.  And, yes, I try searching solely by subject, but no dice.  Anyone else experiencing this?

Just searched by Subject Only for Bridges, and seemed to bring up the right results.

I just did a search for threads with the word "search" (with and without quotes) in the subject line, posted on "other" boards and this thread didn't show up.  Though, in the full page of search results, there were threads going back as far as 2012.

I searched for Bates Motel, found it, then added a post to the end of it. But then it didn't appear on the board. it disappeared.

It's never really worked for me--some things come up, some don't.  I usually have more luck using google with Broadwayworld board and the subject...

The search feature of this site has always been very frustrating (at least in the time since I've joined). I would venture a guess that more than 50% of the things that I search - almost always topics that I know there are multiple threads on - come up empty.

I also use EricMontreal's method.

I don't think that BWW is to blame, however.  It's very difficult to create a good, intuitive search engine. Google's algorithm/tagging/ranking system/other techno-methodologies are extremely sophisticated, and Google has the advantage of presiding over <too> much of the Internet's data flow.

It's just always going to give better results.
