Pet Shop Boys Tour |
I tried several "maybes" for the code with no luck. Sometimes yo can figure it out. Thanks, for letting me know about the tour. I have tried in the past to see them, but it never worked out. The closest city to me is 4 hours away. So depending on prices I may see this tour. But really like their older stuff. I haven't really listened to their newer projects, since I stopped club dj 2006.
Today is VIP presale only. Tomorrow, well, according to their own website:
"The fan pre-sale for regular tickets commences at 10am (local time) the following day, May 12th, where you need to use the code SUPER to order your tickets before the general ticket sale opens up on Friday May 13th."
I've seen them three times now, have the new album though I haven't played it much yet but missed there was a tour. Hope it's coming near again.

Yup! You can use SUPER - just got great seats!
I don't like the venue in Los Angeles. So I am going to pass this time.
In Van they're playing a great old Vaudeville theatre where I've seen them before. I like that they're not as big as they are in Europe so book small venues...
The venue in LA is not a small venue. It is actually a very long venue. I hate it. It used to be called The Nokia.

Where were you going to see them? I got a 10th row for $69.50. I bought directly from the venue who did not charge ticket fees, but stuck on an automatic $2 donation to the theater. I attempted the presell several times last night, but for what ever reason the transactions could not be finalized. If I wanted to spend $89.50, the highest price, I could have got third row this morning. I hope they do a good bit of older material. I'm not really that interested in the new stuff. This will be my first time seeing them.
Have you heard the new stuff? I'm not completely sold on Super (I like it though) but their previous album, also produced by Stuart Price was their best in years.
They usually do about 1/3 new stuff focusing on the album their touring and then a lot of old stuff (some of it reworked--Stuart Price is doing their tour arrangements and did them for their last tour too which were great). You should be happy :)
Top ticket here in Vancouver Canada was 100 bucks Canadian--but compared to a lot of tours not to mention what I spent to see Vancouver Opera's Evita or how much I spent on Broadway tickets when I was in NY last Fall, it feels almost like a bargain.

Eric, When I worked in the clubs, I pretty much stayed on top of current dance music. Since that aspect of my life is behind me, I am unfamiliar with most new dance/club music except for dance remixes of top 40. I haven't bought any Pet Shop Boys music since 2006. Groups like Erasure and Depeche Mode, I used to be into their new music... not so much anymore. So to answer your question, I haven't heard the new music. I may like it, But hoping their setlist focus is 80's and 90's hits.
They must not be selling well in LA because they just blocked off tickets in the Mezzanine and Balcony.
ArtMan--I share your disinterest in current club music--I think maybe we are a few years apart, but until the mid 2000s I was always on top of it, and by 2015 lost interest. But their last album is worth checking out--more so than the more recent ones from Depeche Mode (my fave band as a teenager) and Erasure.
This was one of the singles--which is pretty much a PSB throwback https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7w0eqUBp3c
Eric, thanks for posting that song. I did like it. For those that have seen past tours. Do they ever include "What Have I Done To Deserve This?". I would pee in my seat if they performed it on this tour. My favorite PSB song of all time.
