Anyone else watch the White House Correspondents Dinner last night?  Obama was funny and comfortable, but I wouldn't say it was his best night.  Surprisingly, Larry Wilmore bombed.  He seemed mean and petty, and not all that funny.  I watch his show when I can, and this was not up to his usual standard.

I missed it but the town has the usual smell of sour grapes this time of year. The latest scuttlebutt is that the White House press corps is sick of the Hollywood elites and fashion models usurping their lane.  The running joke is that many of the celebrities who attended the dinner couldn't name three former presidents.  The annual dinner has really gone Hollywood but I think the town benefits from it.  After all, there was a time when the biggest news-maker in the area was Monica Lewinsky.

Bigots, business owners, corporate board members, lobbyists, and trust fund babies are voters too!

“I love Joe Biden. I really do. I want to thank him for his friendship, for his counsel, for always giving it to me straight. For not shooting anybody in the face. Thank you, Joe.”

God, I will miss this cool, charming, intelligent, and deeply hilarious man.
