My first thought was, “YES, PLEASE!!” Then I started wondering…

How practical is this? The music and video are features I would definitely use, but would other apps stop/interrupt me from getting my primary bathroom chores done (i.e., shaving, brushing my teeth)?

Would I have to upgrade my bathroom mirror as often as I upgrade my mobile devices/software?
…and what about the fingerprints? If I’m washing my hands, do I really want to slide my soapy fingers up and down the mirror to raise/lower volume? Do I really want to type on my mirror?

In spite of the impractical aspects, I’d buy this if I had money to burn. If I could access my iTunes, or watch TV while I was shaving, I’d feel good about owning it. The date/time and weather widgets are great, too.

Thoughts?

I spend way too much time on line. I do not spend that much time in front of the mirror. A silly waste!

Even with money to burn I wouldn't buy one.

The TV in a mirror was stupid enough, now this is just idiotic. They only time I would ever use social media or electronics in my bathroom, sorry to give TMI, is when I'm on the toilet.

Now, see... That's an interesting comment to me.

I find that I actually DO spend more time in front of a mirror than I realized before thinking about this kind of mirror. I wonder if you do, too?

I found that when I focused on the timing, I 'waste' a lot of time shaving and (because I've inherited my father's bad British teeth) flossing, brushing, and most recently, caring for/cleaning my upper denture and lower partial.

I don't spend that time focused on "me, in the mirror", but I am there, absentmindedly, doing mundane tasks that take up more time than I'd previously thought. Even just blow-drying my hair.

If I had a smart mirror with an app that played short, headline news videos, or the Weather Channel, or played videos (MTV-style) of my iTunes playlists, I would find that useful. If I had something to focus on in the mirror besides myself, I might brush my (6) teeth for longer periods of time (DON"T JUDGE ME!). I might learn something about what's going on in the world while I'm shaving.

If my smart mirror were voice-controlled (as suggested by some of the commenters in the original article), could I create a daily grocery shopping list while I'm shaving?
