Any word on when Boston will announce? Im predicting a big season for them. Aladdin, School of Rock, On your feet, HAMILTON, probably Les Mis as well. Im thinking a Book of Mormon return is also happening. Sorta disappointing season this year, only shows I had interests in were Jersey Boys, Something Rotten (wasn't even around to see it) or Curious Incident of the Dog In The Nightime.

Wasn't terribly excited by DPAC's season. Two Andrew Lloyd Webber shows in the regular package, plus a return engagement of that dreadful Phantom tour? Definitely a comedown from the current season.

How about the National Theater? I'm hoping to see Aladdin again, especially since Adam is in it

For those Southern Californians, Segerstrom Center is announcing their 2017/2018 season this week and is teasing the shows today on Facebook with word scrambles of the show names.  The first two are Motown and Kinky Boots, both of which were here in the last couple of years.  I know Hamilton is coming (yay!), but hoping for other new shows (Waitress, Something Rotten, Aladdin, etc) instead of repeats. They usually have a good mix, so we'll see what else we get...

Wait, Hamilton in Costa Mesa from May 8 to May 27, 2018? Those dates overlap with Hamilton's scheduled run in Houston, right? This means there's gotta a second national tour announcement coming soon...

Wow, interesting catch. Maybe Chicago will wrap up and head out on tour.

Yeah, the Costa Mesa dates are also weird because I thought Hamilton would come here after San Diego or even Seattle (to stay on the West Coast).  So that makes sense if it's another touring company altogether, especially Chicago.  Although, I'm a little bummed if we don't get Joshua Henry.  And I figured Rory O'Malley would do Costa Mesa since he's LA based.  Curious to see how this plays out...

In other Segerstrom season news, I'm thrilled to get Something Rotten and Color Purple, but bummed neither Waitress or Aladdin are coming next season. I guess they are sticking to LA on their first stops, then will circle back for 2018-2019.

Chicago run and then hitting the road would make the most sense. Save costs perhaps?

I'd guess January Chicago would close up shop, unless they are trying for 3 the originally intended years. I just want it to stay in Chicago forever, but I guess it's not gonna happen.

This article in the NYTimes from July 2016 clearly indicated that there would be two national tours, with the second one (not the SF one) starting in Seattle.

FWIW, there are upcoming auditions for the "Eliza tour" company. The current tour is Angelica,  so either it's casting for the second national company or Chicago is nicknamed Eliza.  I think Hamilton will do what we saw Wicked do a decade ago: one or two sit down productions and multiple touring companies. At this point, the demand is there, I say run with it!

It's not. Chicago is its own, open-ended production, and soon there will be multiple companies touring concurrently.

Does anyone know when Pittsburgh is going to announce? I feel like by this time last year we knew when the announcement date would be (it was March 28 if memory serves).
