This has to be from the rarely seen early years of "The Carol Burnett Show". It may have been the first or second season of the show. It's a spoof of "Valley of the Dolls" and features Carol Burnett as "Anne"/Barbara Parkins, Vicki Lawrence as "Neely"/Patty Duke and a very young Gloria Loring as "Jennifer"/Sharon Tate. It is hilarious!

It's from episode 23. Original air date: February 19, 1968, the show's first season on the air.

Thank you, Carolos. I didn't know the exact date, but I assumed it was from before Sharon Tate was murdered.

You're welcome Gaveston. I figured it was maybe 67-68. I don't think they would have done it after the murders it would have been in bad taste.

I for one had no idea that Gloria Loring's career stretched back that far.

Loring's 1st album was in 68 but she's been singing for years. Married Allan Thicke in 1970 and was aready considered a well known performer.  ( also co wrote Facts of Life  & Different Strokes themes w him)

Thank you for that info sabrelady. I knew she co-wrote the themes for "Diff'rent Strokes" and "The Facts of Life" - and she performed the latter. I knew her from her role as "Liz Chandler" on "Days of our Lives" when I was watching it in the 80s.

In 1968 she was profiled along with Aretha Franklin by ABC News in a segment entitled, THE SINGERS.

Her 1968 album "Today" was recorded for MGM Records.

...and of course she had a huge hit in 1986 with the song "Friends & Lovers" which she recorded with Carl Anderson.

I worked with Miss Loring about 6 years ago at THE FABULOUS PALM SPRINGS FOLLIES. Very nice lady and still in good voice. I found her set a tad "lounge act", but in her defense, that was the sort of thing that went over very well with our audiences.

Anyway, my point is she's still out there performing.

Video is "unavailable" ...but based on the screen grab in the OP, it looks like Titus Andromedon has selected a similar headboard for his bed in ...Kimmy Schmidt.
