*SPOILERS BELOW*

Sooooooo about Sophie Anne Caruso being in the show and not being billed in the playbill or anything else, how does that work with equity requirements about billing/announcement/ etc....

They pass out inserts after the show with her headshot and bio.

I was at Blackbird last night (April 5) and they absolutely handed out the Playbill insert at the end of the show.  I passed multiple ushers in the mezzanine and orchestra on my way out with huge stacks of them.

They hand out inserts. If you didn't get one, you must have avoided the ushers.

I saw this last week and must have missed the ushers handing out inserts, but I wasn't paying attention when I left. I do remember that when I was in the foyer before the play there was a small board with the cast listing and there were three names on the board - Daniels, Williams and another, but my memory is vague and others might be able to clarify if it was Sophie Ann Caruso. I only recall it because at the time I was surprised as I had thought it was just two in the cast.

Yes, it's Sophia Ann Caruso.

Her name is not on the board, but the standbys are. Updated On: 4/6/16 at 09:40 AM

A very clever way of handling a dramatic twist!

Personally, I'm less curious about their decision not to include her in the Playbill, and more curious about:

(A) Why Caruso is not even listed on IBDB. Are they going to add her to the cast when the show closes and there's no risk of spoilers? I think this is her Broadway debut, and she deserves to have her own IBDB page with that credit listed.

(B) Who the background people are, and why they're not in the Playbill. There are people who work in the office who appear onstage occasionally in the background. Are those the standbys? If not, who are they and why wouldn't they get to be in the Playbill? Certainly THAT can't be a spoiler.

Also, doesn't Caruso share the role with another girl? She definitely did when I saw it in previews, because I spoke with the father of the other girl. However, based on what people are saying here it sounds like Caruso goes on more often/maybe is the only one.

Yes, the other office workers are the standbys. I assume Caruso will be added to the IBDB page once the show closes; the actress who played the girl Off-Broadway (Nicola Peltz) was added to the Lortel Archives page after that production closed. I believe Caruso is doing all performances.

This is not her Broadway debut. She was in Matilda.

I seem to recall other shows that have done similar things. When Cabaret played the Henry Miller they didn't hand out the Playbills until the end of the show. The same thing with a show I saw at the Public (can't remember the name....something with "leaves" in the title).

Interesting question though. Can anyone recall any other instances when things were handed out after the show?

Are you sure? I can't find an IBDB page for her. Also I just googled it and I can't find anything about her being in Matilda at all. It's not even on her resumé on her website.

She was never in MATILDA. BLACKBIRD is her Broadway debut.

No matter who they're thinking of, they're wrong.

Actually I got her confused with Sofia Rubino.

Close, but no cigar. The girls come and go so quickly in Matilda....and Sofia Rubino is in School of Rock now....would be hard for her to do both shows (although it's been done before).

This thread is about Sophia Ann Caruso, not the Sofia you're talking about, so I'm not sure why you keep bringing her up. And why do you have two usernames?
