Mississippi Gov. signs Anti Gay Law

It's time for another boycott! Mississippi's @$$hole governor has signed a bill discriminating against gay couples; so it okay now to deny services in the state.

Like someone said on the Georgia thread I don't think Mississippi will have the amount backlash Georgia and North Carolina has had since Mississippi isn't a big business state. I can only see maybe their single major sports team the new orlean saints can pressure the state in some way. Maybe Mardi Gras will be die down.

There are still a lot of businesses that have yet to leave the state. Vermont has already banned travel and business in Mississippi. Lifetime shoots a show called "Bring It' and others. Showtime shoots a show about lesbians and their struggles in the state. I'm sure in a few days, once the news spreads, there will be more. There are minor league baseball teams and more. I know it's not Walking Dead popular, but there will be more.

New Orleans is in Louisiana.  Therefore, the Saints can't do much about Mississippi. 

 

I truly am saddened to be an American, but am forever grateful to be a northerner.

I honestly believed New Orleans was in Mississippi. I feel like an idiot, and yet I think I proves my point. There is pretty much no business there that I could name off the top of my head.

That's a bold position on the part of Back Bay Mission.

I was surprised to learn that the United Church of Christ was so progressive.  See UUC LGBT Ministries for details.  Mississippi is an evangelical stronghold so passage of the law comes as no surprise.

^ went on a mission trip with my church youth group for spring break two weeks ago. I noticed many LGBT symbols around. They also had a restroom for transgendered people. Also as being someone who is gay it's nice to know not all churches or actually the majority for that matter are anti LGBT. My church included.
