Been thinking about that when I remembered I was at this tragic event in the 1970's.

When I was a kid in South Florida, we used to get a break from elementary school to go out and watch the Gemini and Apollo missions go into space overhead. I can't say there was much to see with the naked eye, but surely the Space Race qualifies as historic.

^ You can still see the International Space Station whizz by if you know when to look!

Pretty historic too in its own way. If you want to re-live your youth...

I would say being at Ground Zero on 9/11. Rushing to the site after the first tower came down to see if I could be some sort of help. Being turned away on Church Street by a cop who looked dazed and confused coming out of the cloud of smoke. Visibility was about 5 feet.

I guess the second thing was watching the Moon Landing. We were actually allowed up past our bedtime to watch!

My stepdaughter was near ground zero too.  I guess whichever one you pick is debatable to other people, unless of course you were nearby that horrible day.  I too remember watching live when the second plane hit, but I wasn't going for what you saw live on TV.  Most of my historic moments are sports related.  When I was 11 I went to the first "Right to Life March" on Washington.  The Catholic church took a busload down and my parents let me take off school to go, funny now that I reflect.  I was at Belmont Park the day a famous racehorse named Ruffian broke her leg in a match race against Foolish Pleasure, she was put down shortly after it happened.

I think a show can be your most historical moment. I might feel 10 years from now I saw the original cast of Fun Home, and Spring Awakening might be my favorite moments, but not most historical.  IAM that is yuge.

If you count television events and watching them live, the first man on the moon (I was not yet seven), I watched the second plane hit live on 9/11, and I watched the shuttle disaster live when no one looking at it understood what had happened for the first minute.

If you're talking about being there, I was in the last huge earthquake (the Northridge quake) in Los Angeles. The one that collapsed the 10 freeway that didn't reopen for almost six months. Another natural disaster, historical to locals, I was in a tornado in 1981. Our car was lifted off the ground a few times as we pulled into my friend's driveway. The houses all around his were destroyed.

I also watched the second plane  hit on 9/11.   I was also in the Northridge Earthquake.  Lost my home and took a year to rebuild. I was at the very first preview and opening night performances of the original Les Miserable.  I also had a front row seat at  the Tony Awards that year and got to see Angela Lansbury host and do her number with Bea Arthur.

Prince William and kate middleton's wedding. Obamas victory speech for the 08 election. I was also at the anti trump rally in Chicago a few weeks ago. I left after like 20 minutes though.

Tv-9/11.

In my personal life, Super Storm Sandy.  I was without power for 10 days. There was also uncertainty on how long it would take to remove trees from streets.  There was 1 area near me that had people completely blocked in at both ends of their street.

Not historic but in the Summer of 1990 I happened upon a Cuomo/Kennedy wedding. In one minute I saw John Jr., Jackie O, Mario Cuomo and all of the Cuomo and Kennedy clan. Also nearly ran into James Brady and saw Mandela and Gorbachev that summer.
