Any chance this production will come to NYC?

I don't think that is likely to be honest. Here in the UK, Glenn has said in more than one interview that this London production is the stepping stone to a movie version for which she is in talks/negotiations. I think Broadway is, therefore, unlikely.

...As, surely, is a movie with Close at this point? She am become Norma Desmond.

Doubtful but I would love to see it transfer.

I doubt it would come to Broadway, but I wouldn't be surprised if maybe Close led a concert version of it in NYC at some point.

A staged concert version transferring to NY seems possible, however limited it would be. It would certainly sell out. I hope it happens.

It would be perfect for that "Stars at Encores" thing they did for a couple of seasons at City Center.

Since many of Lonny Price's concerts get filmed, I was hoping this would end up being filmed too. Since everyone is hoping for a movie version though, I am guessing the concert will not be be filmed. It's a shame, because I am certain a movie will never come into fruition.

Visiting London, going to see this in a couple of hours. I'm looking forward to it.

Wasn't there legitimate comments from Lonny Price in an interview about this concert potentially being filmed or did I imagine that?

I don't know about her, and I really don't care, but I think it'd be hilarious if it transferred to Broadway and she was replaced with Patti LuPone.

But then again, she hates Andrew Lloyd Webber, and I doubt she'd be willing to do something like that.

I thought that was just speculation from the boards here. I haven't seen ir mentioned in any articles about the production.

She is really great!    The audience wouldn't let her leave tonight, kept calling her back.    The show itself is good, but she is great.

Webber stated that they were close to a deal to film it in a Theater Talk interview.

Well, that's good to hear, of course Webber isn't exactly a very reliable source, not even when it comes to info about his own shows. LOL

I LOVE this show and hope it eventually comes back to Broadway. I think it's a gorgeous score, and an amazing story, and think it would work well in a smaller-scaled production. Maybe not John Doyle small, but smaller.

Loved it. Chris Hampton and Don Black were on the audience. I didn't spot Lloyd Webber. Many Americans on both the first two shows I saw. The set is joined black metallic staircases across the stage. Orchestra lush and sounds marvelous. Huge ovation for Close's first entrance. She sounds pretty much the same as she did twenty years ago with slight shortness of breath. Her Norma is funny, bonkers and terrifying and had the audience at the palm of her hands at all times. A few line flubs. The paramount scene is spine tingling and very emotional. They use a car-can't tell if it's the same one from the original production. Few lyric changes in Too Much In Love to Care. Joe was meh but Betty and Max superb. "I spent the last month fasting" Joanna is obese; it was very funny. Through the show there is a young Norma that appears and walks across the stage. Overall it's a fantastic and very engaging staged concert where they proved it really was a solid show that wasn't just a big and impressive set.

It would be so nice if this production could make it's way back to New York... what a treat that would be!!!

I do wish that it will transfer to the US, I would love to see Glenn Close playing Norma live.

Curious about Close's vocals, since she went on record (the radio interview) saying she can sing the score better than she did 20 years ago.

Reviews look pretty positive, particularly for Close and her acting in the role.

Saw Close years ago but would love to see Patti tackle the role and score. Maybe her and Andy can kiss and make up.

I never saw Glenn Close on Broadway ( I saw Betty Buckley and Elaine Paige on the London stage instead) but she did appear as Norma Desmond in a tribute concert honoring Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Her performance of WITH ONE LOOK  some twenty years ago was remarkable on this video and shows why she is a great actress. Hope the film adaptation does happen and that Glenn is a top-running candidate for the role.
