Hi all. I know Matilda's rush policy is moderately new as they stuck to a lotto for the first year or so. Has anyone tried it lately? Any luck closer to curtain?

They have both a rush and on-line lottery now. I have won the on-line lottery recently but have not tried the rush. I have seen others by rush tickets first thing in the morning or later in the afternoon = I guess availability depends on the day.

I believe it's $27 for the rush, and $32 for the lottery.

hey Kathy - what was the location of your seats via the online lottery? Thanks in advance.

I've won the online lotto twice. Once I was full view orchestra house left about midway back. Second time, I was second row partial view orchestra house right.

I have tried getting rush a few times an hour or 2 before curtain in January, and they told me they only sold rush in the mornings.

Looks like I am not as lucky as other people I have actually never won the online lottery but I did rush three times. I've sat in row L partial view one time, row h partial view, and standing room (during the holidays they ran out of rush tickets really early in the line). In November I sat in row l and got there around 40 minutes before the box office opened and I got a decent spot in line. For the holidays I tried getting there an hour and a half before the box office opened and there were at least 25 people in front of me maybe more but that was a one show day. The third time it was a Two show Sunday and the website is wrong when it's a two show Sunday the box office opens at 10 not 12. I got there 5 minutes before the box office actually opened thinking I'd be waiting there for two hours and I was able to get row h. There were exactly 10 people in front of me but a handful of people got tickets for the evening performance. It really just depends what day every single time I rushed it was a Sunday (two of those happened only to be a one show Sunday) but it really just depends on what day. What I normally do is try both the lottery and rush just in case. I hope this helped let me know if you have any other questions I didn't mention!

As a rule, the online lottery seats are pretty much where the regular lottery seats were..mostly sides of the orchestra - usually close up to middle -all noted as partial view but they are just barely "partial." You'll also get occasionally seating further back or on a particularly quiet day, you might get a really excellent seat orchestra seat, not partial view at all.

Rush tickets can be anywhere in the theater - and are frequently where the lottery seats might be, but can also be found in the mezz, balcony, not always together.

Since the lottery seats are slightly more expensive, they are often better than rush seats.

Every time I do it I normally get there around 2 and a half or 2 hours before the box office opens. Some times I went an hour early, or even five minutes (in the winter) and got tickets. However, the summer is harder to get tickets. Last week on a two show Wednesday I got there an hourish before, and by the time I was up they sold out of tickets for both the matinee and evening. That never happened to me, but after that experience I'll stick with going 2 hours and a half-2 hours early.

Thanks for that info. Where are the seats usually? I know sometimes they're partial view. How obstructed is the view? Because we rushed Les Miz last night and we couldnt see about 40% of the stage.
