More tix got released - but only limited and obstructed views for the date I needed (plus American Express tix - for which I am not eligible)

I got some tix for Dec! There was no long wait to get them too, unlike earlier.  And good to know about Row X to avoid them, even if I have to go to the Mezz.

I've seen the show 3x in NYC, now time to watch closer to home!

Now that the seat map is up again, I broke down and purchased two limited view seats in the side orchestra, Row L. I'm only in town during marathon weekend, so didn't have the benefit of date flexibility.

I've seen the show, and have tickets for an upcoming date in NY, so was going to give these to family members who'll also be in Chicago. Does anyone know bad the sightlines are from the extreme sides of the orchestra, Row L? (I know it can vary depending on the stage and set design, but just generally, I mean.) Thanks!

Keep an eye out for more tickets to go on sale. Apparently BIC is monitoring secondary ticket sites for group tickets being sold above face value. It is against the group sales contract and if they're caught selling ANY tickets above face the entire order will be cancelled. I'm willing to bet that's going to happen.

Aww, thanks! Broadway in Chicago Season Tickets - Hamilton   I appreciate that.  It's OK, I see more tickets are available so I'll go check it out.  I am kind of restricted in that I can only get out of town on weekends, and I don't want to get tickets after the snow starts flying, but the show will be playing for a long time so I know I'll see it live someday! Just maybe not right away.

ETA OK, so there are currently 3 mezzanine row D seats available, seats 14 - 18, but it says they're obstructed view. Does anyone know what they're obstructed by? The photo of the theater I'm looking at doesn't show any poles...

Same, but with Seller's claim that he doesn't like star/stunt casting I'm not expecting it to be anyone major. Perhaps some lesser known theater stars Lin as worked with in the past?

Got my tickets for Chicago on Oct 1! It was a nightmare but eventually got through. I will be seeing the Chicago show before seeing it on on Broadway in December. Can't wait!

There are tons of obstructed view seats available.  My cousin and I just teamed up and got 12 for mid December

Yeah, I'm curious about the obstructed view seats. I bought 6 in dress circle row F for February. This makes it seem not so bad, but I'm wondering if anybody has firsthand knowledge of how obstructed the obstructed dress circle seats really are. I've only ever sat in the mezzanine and the balcony at this theatre.

(I'd strongly recommend against sitting in the balcony. It's wayyyy too far away.)

The dress circle overhang is bad. It's very very bad.  There is no sugarcoating that.  If you're familiar with the overhang at the back of the RRT orchestra, well it's even worse.  You definitely won't be able to see people standing on the wood structure upstage.  And you won't be able to see extreme downstage either.

The map business is on again. It shows a map with available seats but then tells you it's not working, and then when you ask for them to recommend best seats it shows nothing. Does anyone know if they will release more in the future? And are these "available" seats available or is it just a glitch? Or is ticketmaster the biggest troll of all time?

Thanks for the info, Phantom4ever. That's too bad. Might have to look into selling these tickets then. Fortunately, I already secured mezzanine tickets through group sales.

Don't know how accurate it is, but I used this seating chart while looking at limited view and obstructed view seats: https://blog.tickpick.com/bank-of-america-seating-chart/

It includes the columns, which some may find useful.

I thought it was a pretty helpful map, though guess I'll have to wait until October to know for sure!

Does seller really not like stunt casting? Mel b was cast in rent and Corbin was cast in, in the heights.

It was a crazy day battling Ticketmaster. Things were really dire at first this morning and I was only able to get Dress Circle (side) Row C in December.  That's as far out as I was willing to buy - I'm too impatient to wait until next year!

Then I forgot to search $177 tickets only, and was offered premium seats (3rd row center) for a Wednesday matinee in November, so I decided to splurge and get them.

Then the maps turned on and because I couldn't help myself, I randomly got 2 limited view singles for opening night.

I'm just glad there's a 6 ticket limit before I go broke!  The funny part is that 6 face value tickets (including 2 premiums) are still less than the 2 Stubhub tickets I bought for the Broadway production.

I hope everyone had good luck and kept trying! I'm sure many gave up early; it really was terrible until the maps started opening up.

I got tix for four performances between 10:15 and 10:45 today through the app on my phone/iPad...had to live with the app picking my seats for me, which turned out better than I'd hoped (all $205ish each incl fees...didn't want to spend the extra time to use my new ticketmaster class action credits)

Sat Oct 1: Right Orch Row G (1 ticket)

Sun Oct 2 matinee (maybe Lin will perform as the understudy?!): Left Orch Row M (1 ticket)

Wed Nov 9: Left Mezz Row e (2 tickets)

Thur Feb 16: Left Orch Row Q (2 tickets)

Grabbed two "limited view" mezzanine seats (left side, row E) for 12/30 without any trouble at all. $212 each. Way more than I would pay for any other show but I know it's peanuts compared to Broadway prices so I'll take it. Just glad I was able to get tickets at all!

Jealous us of your opening night tix! I tried for that originally too. Will have to settle for Sat Oct 1 and Sun Oct 2 and hope the "cabinet" is still in town then watching from the audience!

I agree with you on the 6 ticket limit - who knows what else I would have bought! And yes, all were cheaper than my stub hub NYC purchase for 2 tix...crazy!!

It looks like the site is being more accommodating and opening up. I got a few in December which is when I'll be doing my Musical Theatre World Tour LOL

2x premium seats orchestra Row C

3x premium seats mid-orchestra Row N

1x restricted view mid-orchestra Row N

There seems to be a enough going around in December. I haven't looked at other dates because I don't like there. Needless to say I'm quite happy and at ease now. Can't wait to read about casting.

Call me crazy but I'm thinking that Karen Olivo might be in the Chicago cast. Just a wild guess based on her tweets and retweets.

Question for those other Season Ticket Holders. I'm a first Tuesday ticket holder.  Is anyone else?  They let me know that I would not be Sept 27th, it would be a week later, because "producers" purchased the bulk of tickets. They also said we wouldn't get our "seat date" until 45 days before the show date to avoid selling online. This was through the BIC phone line.

I was annoyed because I never dealt with seeing a show a week after the opening. I did the Amex presale and got a couple amazing seats for different dates.

Since I never dealt with a show "this big" I was wondering if any other season ticket holders had their date changed by BIC?   Thanks.

Just because they are already "a name" doesn't make it stunt casting.    Stunt casting is more about a person being cast primarily (or only) for their name recognition, assuming their name alone is going to sell lots of tickets regardless of their ability to play the part.  Not all known people are a box office draw.  Corbin Bleu is hardly stunt casting, and he was incredible in In the Heights,  (I can't speak to Mel B.)

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Haha yeah i noticed that. i was thinking the same thing. But she and Lin are good friends though and she's tweeted about Hamilton before so I doubt it.
