I think it's safe to say that we all agree about the dangers of AIDS.

Namo, funny thing is a few month ago I met with a career coach who specializes in helping senior-level professionals become entrepreneurs.  Nearly the first thing that rolled out of her mouth was personal branding followed by social media content management.  My reaction was, oh Lord...I need to get Kardashianized.  I sort of accept it is a necessary evil for anyone peddling their wares or themselves in the InterWebs.  But, it just seems so me, me, me, me...

I disagree with what I inferred from your comments. I don't think the hype over Warhol is the same thing as with Beyonce. You claimed that what's going on with her has been going on since Warhol. I don't see them as the same. okay?

It seems that simply being an artist is no longer enough; an artist must be a popular artist or even better, a brand to remain relevant for more than a 7 day news cycle.

 

But that's probably been true since at least Warhol, no?

Jane -- don't waste your time. Once Namo latches onto something, he's far too stubborn to just let it go. Speaks more largely to his character and his reason for no children, life partners, career, etc.

Liza, I respect Namo's opinion on most things. I don't mind the lengthy debate with him. I'm prone to do that most all the time.

yeah, well there are those exceptions, Liza. You don't know if and how my relationship with Namo extends past these posts.

That is irrelevant, Jane.  Real friends interact in real mediums. Not virtual message boards. If you are Namo's only real friend, he needs to get out more. A lot more.

Jane and I ARE friends off this board.  Neither of us is the other's only friend.  You're projecting has never had quite the patina of sadness it does today.

You do not need a message board to have friends, Namo. Try putting yourself out there.... Go socialize, find a mate, get involved with a charity...
