I have Comcast / Xfinity and I'm finding that I'm watching less and less of their cable channel offerings. I also have Comcast / Xfinity Internet and I'm very pleased with that. Is it possible to just get Internet service from them and perhaps the most basic of basic cable channels? Will the cost of my Internet increase because I'm not doing a package? Anyone have any suggestions or "magic words or phrases" that I can use when I contact them in order to get the best value?
I tried. And I ended up with a newer model DVR and more movie channels and a savings of about 50 bucks a month for the next year. I'll be up a creek when that time is up.
The bundling to save money to spend more. I have the new wireless modem and it is freaking lightning fast. I HATE the cost but there are often 7 in the house using the service without issues.
This is a friendly reminder that the balance on your account now is overdue. You can quickly and conveniently pay your bill online here or by calling 1-800-XFINITY.
Morosco, I have Comcast for both my internet and cable. I have basic cable with them which for my area are the local channels, some extra good channels and the rest is crap I never watch. My total bill with taxes/fees (this week, cuz you know how often they go up) is $63. So to answer your question, you can keep your internet and only receive basic cable. My price of the internet and basic have pretty much stayed the same. It is the additional new fees that have caused my bill to go up.
I'd like to rid my home of Comcast cable tv but got no alternative. Verizon has no immediate plans to extend FIOS to this neighborhood and a satellite dish isn't permitted due to a crappy homeowner's association covenant....arrrrgh.
