I'll be in London the first week of July with my daughter. I'd like to catch a couple of shows - one musical and one play. I'm leaning towards Funny Girl and The Play That Goes Wrong. I've seen a lot of the Broadway shows either on Broadway or my home town, so looking for something that I've got no chance of seeing anytime soon here. Is there another one that I'm missing. Bend It Like Beckham also interests me. Also, is there a preferred online ticket site to get tickets? I seem to be led to boxoffice.co.uk. Thanks! Super excited for this trip :)
FUNNY GIRLL would be a great choice, as would BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM (especially if you want to see a NEW show) - the music is beautiful, the Book is quite charming and the performances are outstanding. Another option would be MRS HENDERSON PRESENTS, a new show that opens next month in the West End after a highly acclaimed regional try-out.
And you can't really go wrong with THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG - it's side-splittingly hilarious!
Sorry I can't be of any help re online ticket websites for the West End - I always book in person at the theatres (to avoid paying the extortionate online booking fees!)

Also, bookmark theatremonkey.com for reviews of seating at theatres, dayseat information, and a plethora of information about discounts.
Other "only in London" would be The Woman In Black (seen it 3 times and enjoyed it each time) and "Sunny Afternoon" the story of The Kinks (and winner of Olivier Award).
Also, check out nonWest End theatres: Almeida, Donmar, Hampstead, Southwark, Young Vic, Old Vic, Union, Menier. As well as The National, the Globe and Regents Park Open Air.
