The first Sunday in January strikes again! Therese Raquin is ending it's limited runs (although it wasn't selling well). Dames and Sylvia end their three month run, and Hand to God ends it's nine month run before hopping across the pond to London.
Did you like these shows? What was your favorite memory of them?
Sad to see Hand to God go- it's one of my all-time favorite plays, and Steven Boyer's performance was perfect. Still, I'm happy it had a good run, far beyond what anyone could have anticipated for such a strange, dark play.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
I loved Therese Raquin! Expected so little and got so much out of it. Please oh please let the Tony committee remember the stellar acting, set and lighting designers come nominations time!
I saw all of the shows mentioned her except The Gin Game. Hand to God was by far my favorite of the lot. I am so glad I got to see it twice. Easily one of the best straight plays I have ever seen. Dames at Sea did nothing for me. I saw Therese Raquin twice. While I didn't hate it, I can't say that I liked it either. I did love set for the show though, and I hope it is remembered come Tony time. Sylvia was a complete waste of time and money. I left at intermission.

Hand To God, glad it had a great run, even more so that I got to see it.
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.
