It would certainly appear so, judging by the photo of the script with his name on it that he tweeted, with the caption "guess who is joining Aladdin on Broadway"
Now that just seems like a dream casting. Also even if James Monroe Iglehart is enjoying himself it doesn't mean that the producer would want to extend him. Being in the same show for 2 years plus 4 years of pre Broadway tryouts and workshops is a long time to be in to be in the same show. I would think James would want to move on to tv or another.
In our millions, in our billions, we are most powerful when we stand together. TW4C unwaveringly joins the worldwide masses, for we know our liberation is inseparably bound.

Disney is one of the most loyal producers on Broadway to their employees. If James wants to stay and Disney thinks that he is doing a good job, they would more than likely extend his contract. Heck, 8 or so stayed with Newsies for well over two years - maybe even three including Papermill, with most of them staying until the very end. Another example, just look at Andrew Keenan-Bolger - he's been in four Disney shows including Aladdin when it was in Seattle.
If James is leaving, I'm guessing it is his personal choice.
hey everybody, Will Mann here. i haven't been on the boards in over a decade but a bunch of friends have contacted me citing this thread and the disney wiki page. hate to break it to you but i've received no calls about replacing my buddy james. i texted him with screen shots and we had a good chuckle. maybe one day the disney wiki prediction will ring true but as for now, no such luck.
To be fair, Will did not say that James is not leaving but he just said that he himself will not be replacing him at the moment as he has received no such offer.
The leads aren't leaving the show until February 21st. Which means I highly doubt the guy who is joining the show tomorrow is joining as Aladdin or there definitely would have been news about it.

The timing is about right. Besides Disney never announces any of the replacements for leads until the final week.
