Has anyone done rush for Fiddler on the Roof? What time do you have to get there for tickets? And where in the theatre have they been located? Thank you!

When I rushed, I got partial view extreme side front orch. There were only about 10 available for that Sunday matinee, and I arrived at 10:30.

I have two words of advice for this production.

DON'T RUSH

But if you must see it a cheap seat is a good idea.

Why? To avoid ending up in the rear mezz? I'm trying to determine what would be the best way to get a reasonably priced seat to this one. The discount codes out there aren't so great.

Has anyone tried rush since the show has opened?

I tried today. I showed up 10 minutes after the box office opened. There was a line out the door. When I got to the window they had seats available but Danny Burstein is out of the show today so I'm not sure if that would change anything normally.

I Rushed yesterday the 27th.  Same happened with my friend and I, we were told Danny was out the Matinee so we got two Rush for the evening.  We were put up in the Rear Mezz center.  There were four full empty rows in front of us and people moved down.  I think Front Mezz is your best bet for this show.

I rushed yesterday (Sun 1/10 matinee). Only the first six people in line got tickets, and the first people got in line around 11am (box office opens at noon). Mind you it was a rainy morning, so that may have changed things up a bit.

I was lucky to get two tickets, but they weren't next to each other. One was in the rear mezz, the other in the second row of the orchestra, last seat on the end. Another pair that got rush tickets were first row, last two seats on the end.

I'm surprised they had so few rush tickets yesterday, mk1091, because I had a much different experience last weekend, albeit it was a Saturday.

I rushed Fiddler last Saturday, January 2, at 5:30pm for the evening show on a whim after seeing the matinee of Therese Raquin and got two rear mezzanine seats.  There were so many empty seats up there that perhaps they try to sell them all as rush as it gets closer to showtime?  I guess the benefit of getting there early was the chance to get orchestra seats.

According to the house staff, yesterday's performance was a sold out show! And by the looks of it, it certainly was.

Does anyone know if the rush line is located inside the foyer by box office or if you wait outside? Was hoping for an inside wait if the morning is really cold

The foyers of all theaters are closed when the box office is closed. So you'll have to wait outside until it opens. At 10 (or 12 on Sundays) the usually make an effort to move as much the line inside as possible. I can't say with certainty for this show, but the foyer of the Broadway theater is quite spacious, so I don't see why they wouldn't, especially if it's cold outside.

Bumping this thread to see if anyone has tried to rush Fiddler on the weekends recently?  I'm thinking of going on Sunday, but would love to know if they have been drawing a large crowd and I have to get there before noon or if I can go later in the day.  Thanks!

I rushed on Easter Sunday. There was a line, but I don't think all of it was for rush - some people just buying regular tickets, and others picking up their tickets (they didn't have a separate window open for this). I got there right at 12 and got a rusk ticket. Front Mezz, off to the far right.

I went last Saturday to rush for the matinee. I got there at about 8:45 and was 5th in line, having no problem securing a ticket! There sales have been lacking recently so I'm sure you'll be able to secure tickets if you get there 30-45 minutes before the box office opens. Good luck! (I loved the production btw!)

Whoops...I meant 2 Saturdays ago. But I bet you'll find the same thing true most weekends from what I've heard/seen.

Went this morning - Sat May 7, 2016. First two people got there at 7:30. I was third and got there at 8:15. About eight people got there at 8:30. When the box office opened at 10 there were about 20 - 25 people.

The first two got three tickets in center orchestra. I got two tickets, full view, side orchestra.

thanks for the report! I was under the impression that rush seats for Fiddler are usually rear mezz, and glad to hear that they can be anywhere including center orchestra!
