My brother is coming in from Colorado and want to see BOM, but can only afford SRO/lottery.

Can anyone suggest a time they should be in line?  I know its not as early as it used to be, but I'm hoping to pass on accurate info. (He'll be in NY during the week not weekend)

TIA

Bumping because I'm curious as well.

I bought the two last standing room tickets for a Tuesday evening performance an hour before curtain. Nobody was in line when I arrived, so for me it really wasn't hard to get. (This was a month and a half ago)

You're welcome! Besides that, since I do standing room for a lot of shows and it doesn't always happen: during intermission every standing person got a seat. (I got one in what I think must have been the premium section, because it gave a great view. So they're really a good deal. Hope your brother enjoys the show!)

Sam2: Did ushers seat you at intermission or did most SRO people just find seats themselves? Just curious!

Thanks! I remember that happening when it gets colder (arriving fairly late and getting a spot); I haven't actually done standing room for Mormon since February.

@GreasedLightning: One of the ushers guided all of us to a seat.

A friend and I did SRO for BOM last year and got there around 4pm for a Friday show. We wanted to try our luck at the lottery but be guaranteed SRO if we didn't win. We were about third in line.

Are you saying that one of the ushers guided you to a seat at intermission of Book of Mormon? I've never seen that.

I've done the standing room twice at BOM, and each time the employees and ushers were super strict - lined everyone up for a briefing before the show's start: said under no circumstances could anyone take a seat, do not even try it - "we are sold out", must stand the whole time, you cannot sit on the ground at any time,  do not attempt to sit on the stairwell during the show that is not permitted, you must clear the entire area and railing at intermission because people must get through to the bathrooms.  kinda made us feel like second class citizens, but hey, that's what standing room tickets are all about , if one can't deal with it, pay more money and buy a normal seat.  as far as I'm concerned, SRO people are the true theatre goers, the one's committed to getting in and enjoying theatre.   But I don't know what employees were working at the Eugene o'neill theatre on the days the other people in this thread went, they weren't there when I've been there.

Sorry, NiceWork. It does happen at the O'Neill. Maybe just not to you.
