Initial returns for California put Clinton at 63 and Sanders at 36.

Will this hold?

On the news, they're saying California can sometimes take days before the final numbers come in. So, we'll see...

Clinton has done much better than expected with early mail-in votes, possibly due to Bernie's dwindling funds. Late mail-in votes would probably only hold up a call if the race is close.  NBC is characterizing the race as "too early to call," which is different than "too close to call."

Even Kornacki finds the margin startling.  It may narrow of course, but this is still powerful, as of 12:28 a.m.

The absentee ballots are also clearly from those who got the right ballot, so it will screw more traditional democratic then those votes at the polls.  There was some confusion on how to vote if you were not a registered democrat and wanted to vote in the democratic primary - and those with the wrong ballots had to go to their polling place to get a replacement.

But regardless, it is skewing higher - which makes me happy.  I am hoping that it holds for a decent state-wide margin.

NBC just called CA for HRC.

Bernie's speech last night makes him the very definition of a sore loser, and I used to have a good deal of respect for his ideas.

I do wonder now that California has been called for Clinton, along with President Obama's upcoming endorsement and meeting with Sanders will finally be enough pressure to get him to drop out because at this point it's becoming laughable.

My name is neither "adam" nor "greer."

Bernie's speech did not mention flipping superdelegates, performing better than HRC in polls, or even winning the nomination. Last night was NOT the time or audience for a concession/unity speech; that needs to be carefully staged.

In one foul-mouthed "concession" speech, Bernie proved he was only out for his own self-aggrandizement and, in doing so, he destroyed the movement he created.

According to the two Sanders aides who wrote this Politico article, Bernie's rage against Hillary and the Democratic party fueled all the bad decisions he made:

PJ, we certainly dodged a bullet. I can't believe so many people bought the charlatan's wares.

Classy way to handle victory guys.  I think you should continue to denigrate Sanders voters, just the formula to win them over.  I'm looking forward to Trump's speech next week.  I'm sure it will be accurate.

I do have a question - what was Bernie's efforts in the GOTV vote and fund raising for the Dems in 2010?

Clinton won. She's going against Trump. If the fear of a Trump presidency isn't enough for you to vote for Hillary, then you cannot be won over.

Most of the people who will refuse will be people who stand to lose very little under Trump.

To quote Magneto, "The real enemy is out there."  At this point in the election, you need to question why you are bickering with anyone other than Trump and his supporters.

Now lets unify the party.  With gloating, condescension, and scare tactics!

And I actually agree that its time for Bernie to step down, although I don't think last night was the time to do it.  It's vital for the future of a socialist Democratic third party that is looking more and more as an inevitability in American politics.  Inevitability?  Hell, its the damn future.

But until then: Viva Income Inequality!

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

Well put Borstal.  The funny thing is every person in here with maybe the exception of Liza has stated they will vote for Clinton in November.  Even Erik said in here if he thinks Jersey is going to be close he will vote for her.  Yet PJ felt compelled to write this,

"In one foul-mouthed "concession" speech, Bernie proved he was only out for his own self-aggrandizement and, in doing so, he destroyed the movement he created."

Stage Manager this,

"PJ, we certainly dodged a bullet. I can't believe so many people bought the charlatan's wares."

Charlatan's wares?  A total faker, he doesn't really mean what he says, he dosen't really care about the poor, the climate, corruption, no he only cares about his "self aggrandizement."

You're right Borstal, see you in the future.

That article is pretty sad. I can appreciate Sander's disappointment but still it is for the Party and the Country's best interest to step down and start working on making sure TRUMP DOESN'T HOLD OFFICE.
