You're right, PJ.  Democrats who accept GOP money should never be running for president.

Apples and oranges. The Nader donors were part of a concerted effort to defeat Al Gore, just like Dr. Jill is out to defeat Hillary.

By the way, this 2013 article is by the same investigative reporter you just linked about the contribution. But his revelations about HIllary are nowhere as damning as his revelations about Nader.

Republican money is Republican money.

Oh!  Nostalgia time!  And proof that the more things change, the more they stay the same.  And people wonder why we want a radical vision for the presidency.

'Meanwhile, no talk of a living wage, of renegotiating NAFTA to stop its job-busting impacts across the country, of the 100 farmers being forced out of business each day, of universal healthcare coverage or of other issues that might cause the majority’s ears and hearts to perk up. Even when Gore went skittering across the country in August on a widely ballyhooed “Working Families Tour,” he had the Clinton administration’s favorite Wall Streeter, Robert Rubin, by his side, sending a stage wink to the corporate powers, assuring them that all his quasi-populist posturing was only rhetoric — not to worry, Rubin still has a grip on policy."

In the end, it comes down to is it a "moral compromise" or "pragmatic politics"?

Spend your hate on Trump, and calling the people a "cult" who support him makes you and sabrelady look like children.  The support he has gotten from working class and middle class Americans is mind blowing. He and his ilk are the future.  If anything is a cult, it's the cult of Clintonites.

Time to finally leave Sanders behind to oppose the true enemy, Trump.

"I know what a show-stopping song is. I know what you get a Tony for. Neither of those songs were it. And Sheryl Lee Ralph didn't even get nominated. Even with the new material. Hillary has not secured the nomination yet, despite the media spin. Hillary even knows this - urging people to still vote for her in California on her twitter account. Maybe this will mean a low voter turnout for Hillary tomorrow helping Bernie's cause (at the same time, it could also mean a low voter turnout for him too).

This is exactly the problem with the media and superdelegates.

All the news outlets have been polling the superdelegates for months. As soon as the Puerto Rico votes were in, the calls went out again. One by one, starting with the AP, they came up with similar tallies:

The AP added:

"While superdelegates will not formally cast their votes for Clinton until the party's July convention in Philadelphia, all those counted in her tally have unequivocally told the AP they will do so."

I appreciate that thoroughness, and think that the chance Bernie Sanders could convince the superdelegates is unlikely (i.e., I agree the outcome of HRC as nominee is very likely). But it would have been nice if the media at least gave him a shot. Consistently reporting Hillary's lead with superdelegates throughout this whole race has lead to a potentially false impression to voters that Hillary has been winning by a wider margin than she has, and given CA is Sanders' last shot - this continued reporting couldn't have come at a worse time for him.

The media let slip that they were going to call the race for Hillary long before the results were in.

Are you guys cool with this?  The media reporting a victory of their preferred candidate before people vote?  And no, it's not showbiz, it's a GD election.

I'm not asking this rhetorically.  I really want to know if you have a truly objective take on this and what you think it does to our morale as a country.  Do we all just shrug and say "Oh, the media is corrupt.  La dee dah."

Imagination trumps practicality any day.  It's a shame its such a unvalued currency in this increasingly sorry country.

BUT!  You heard it from The Media:  Hillary has it tied up.  I'm sure whoever buries dead Palestinian children is breathing a sigh of relief for the job security.

Maddow cornered a poor Sanders spokesperson with an interesting tidbit. Seems like in 2008, Sanders stayed out of the primary until this precise point in the process, when he endorsed Obama, claiming that the race was over. The spokesperson's respinse was effectiveliy, "Homina, homina, homina."

I've been voting since 1980, but I've never registered with a party, so I had never voted in a primary before.  However, this morning I registered as a Democrat and voted for HRC.
