Harry Enten at 538.com predicts that Hillary will tie up the bundle between that closing of the polls in New Jersey and the closing of the polls in California on June 7. The networks will race to declare her the nominee and the media narrative will change entirely.

The narrative will really change once Sanders throws his support behind Clinton.  That will also free Elizabeth Warren to be a real surrogate, and not have to rely on Twitter wars.

At this point in the race, is there anything more frivolous and wasteful than requesting a recount across the entire state of Kentucky?

No it isn't.

The Democratic Platform Committee Now Has a Progressive Majority. Thanks, Bernie Sanders.

Sanders adds Keith Ellison, Cornel West, and Bill McKibben to a committee that also includes progressives Elijah Cummings and Barbara Lee.

And we're all happy about that. But we want the threats of violence and the dehumanizing of our candidate to stop immediately. We want the sneering accusations of rigging and fixing to stop. And, on June 7th, we want the math to determine the candidate as a settled matter so the real battle can begin.

As a Jersey boy, I'm happy to have a say, and will pull that lever for Clinton on June 7th.

Having never registered with a political party before, I will be registering as a Democrat in NJ on June 7th, and I will be voting for HRC.

Only the lemmings in the media believe the inspector general's report says anything damning about Clinton. If anything, it's damning about the State Department itself. The Politico article about the inspector general's report says:

...the report concludes that the agency suffers from '"longstanding, systemic weaknesses'" with records that "go well beyond the tenure of any one Secretary of State”...it also notes widespread email issues across the tenures of five secretaries of state, not just Clinton.

Are we going to jail every secretary of State since Madeleine Albright? Including John Kerry? And the Washington Post article says that the report...

...was particularly critical of former secretary of state Colin Powell — who has acknowledged publicly that he used his personal laptop to write emails — concluding that he too failed to follow department policy designed to comply with public-record laws.

Whaddya gonna do? Arrest him too?

I'm not sure if your rhetorical question was directed at me or not. I have never suggested she should be arrested (a bit dramatic, no?) nor that the email "scandal" is the smoking gun to the Clinton's widespread and system corruption. Her questionable dealings as Secretary of State, including the meddling of VCS Mining in Haiti and Boeing Corp. in Russia, are substantial enough for me. I was merely sharing the results of the extensive AG report. Of course this development won't impact a diehard Hillarybot such as yourself. It may, however, factor in for others -- like independent women, whom she does terribly with -- when heading to the ballots.

State Department Deals A Death Blow To The Republican Party’s Clinton Email Scandal

"Republicans will try to spin this bad news for them as a reason to keep the scandal going, but as they continue to investigate the use of Clinton’s emails, Congressional Republicans will also need to investigate the use of email by previous Secs. of State in the Bush administration. The State Department audit is evidence that the main contention of Republicans that Hillary Clinton broke the law is not true.

The Beltway media has always been more interested in the email scandal the general public, so they will gloss over the fact that the State Department audit blows the central belief of the Republican email scandal conspiracy theorists to tiny bits.

Clinton didn’t handle her email well, but neither did previous Republican Secretaries of State.

The real scandal that should matter to voters is that Republicans in Congress have wasted millions of dollars investigating a “scandal about nothing.”"

I... really don't get the issue with the Email. It's not like she did it behind anyone's back. She had a private Email server since the beginning and if this was a problem why was it not addressed... 8 years ago? Surely would of snuffed out any "issues" they're trying to claim it caused.

In a hilarious twist of events, Donald Trump just verbally agreed to debate Bernie Sanders before the California primary.

I hope this happens, and it's a hilarious slap in the face for Hillary Clinton (who quite frankly deserves it given she reneged on her promise for another debate). The outcome of this debate could be much worse for her than a debate with Sanders. It'll be the most watched debate of the season, and if Sanders destroys Trump it'll add fuel to his argument that he is the best candidate to beat Trump in a general election (which is currently indicated by almost every poll and his unique ability to motivate people to involve themselves in the political process).

Alternatively, it poses some risk for Sanders. Should Trump destroy him it would make it difficult for him to argue he could take on Trump in a general election.

Clinton must be squirming.

If Bernie were to do this, he would destroy his movement. He would be finished in the Senate and American politics. And he would prove that all he ever was is the Left's Donald Trump and that all he ever wanted was publicity.

No. Sanders would destroy Trump in a debate. A Sanders/Trump debate would be good for Sanders AND Clinton, bad for Trump.

But it's not going to happen. Trump will back out (just like Clinton did!) and it will never happen.

Trump might go for this, thinking he and Sanders would tag-team Clinton with no opposition.  Sanders might find himself defending Clinton, as well as the Democratic party.  It would be a lose-lose scenario.  Bernie's desperation and ambition might just overcome his political judgment here, and it's obvious he's not getting competent political advice, so I wouldn't rule this out.  It would be a fiasco.

Sorry but I don't buy this. Sanders will have a chance to talk about the serious issues/his vision for America to his largest audience yet - I don't see how that will destroy his movement. It will only help it grow stronger. If he does well, it could also be a positive thing for Hillary Clinton (as someone mentioned) - showing how progressive ideas are better than Trump's ideas, and convincing the people to vote for the Democratic party rather than the Republican party. At the end of the day, despite all the discussion in this thread, despite Hillary's policy flip flopping, voting record and donors  - Hillary's overall vision, values and policy positions are at a high level consistent with Bernie's vision (e.g., higher minimum wage; accessible education; better health care coverage) - Bernie would be fighting for the same side as Hillary in a Sanders vs Trump debate. It may be helpful.

In my opinion, Bernie does not the discipline to hold up in a one-on-one debate with Trump the way you describe.  Clinton showed that is easy to get under his skin, and he is easily thrown off his game.

Oh for heaven's sake, it will be nothing more than political spectacle, with people tuning in to see who is the first one to blow their top.  Trump is an idiot savant when it comes to finding people's triggers.  What you'll have is a man who got into the race to focus on issues and who asserted he was above all the political shenanigans being dragged into the worst display in modern political history.  His fans need to take a step back and realize this is all to his ultimate disrespect.
