Smh, that Weinstein. I think this kind of promotion is particular to Finding Neverland and has not been done before.

"Mostly, I loved the size of these people's emotions. Nobody has emotions this size anymore. Outsized emotions. Operatic emotions. Kushemski and Vanda are like Tristan and Isolde, they're Paolo and Francesca. Nobody's in total thrall like this anymore. Nobody's overcome by passion like this, or goes through this kind of rage." Why "smh"??? What are they going to do? Just throw buckets of free tickets out into the street on a quiet time of year? They have to make a profit somehow. It's nice that they're offering this at all.

Sounds similar to Kids Night on Broadway where kids go free with an accompanied, paying adult.

Agreed Greased. Also, I don't think it's the best idea for a few hundred kids to see a Broadway show on their own. Some might not be mature enough. Parents aren't a bad idea to have around, and they won't give away tickets as they need to make some profit.

It has become obvious that some just want to say any little negative thing about Finding Neverland to get their rocks off. Good on the show for doing this. Sounds fun for the kids.

"Participating children must be accompanied by a paying adult."

EACH child does not need his/her own private paying adult!

The difference is as follows:

Kids Night on Broadway: Each adult buying a full-price ticket will receive one additional (free) ticket that is to be used by a child [age 6-18] accompanying the adult.

Finding Neverland promotion: Each student (grades 6-12) who properly submits an entry (a five-minute play) receives a voucher for a free ticket. One paying adult (teacher, parent or other) may accompany several children. [That is, only one teacher or other adult is needed to accompany a whole class or group of children.]

p.s.  I agree, "Good on the show for doing this."

Thanks for clarifying that, p.s.! Even more so am I in support of this after knowing that. Encouraging groups of children to be creative and submit their own play in exchange for a ticket to a Broadway show? This is a dream come true for a child. And needing only one adult to accompany a group is very kind of the producers.

FINALLY Harvey is doing something to benefit the theatre-going community and children fans instead of continuing to only feed his own fat pockets. I give him props. It makes me want to see the production even more now.

I don't see how it's "finally". The show has plenty of discounts, participates in all broadway events including the flea market, and has come out with this. I don't get the Harvey hate. The show might not be the best but he is literally looked down upon for being successful.
