I keep thinking every season how they've hit the bottom of the barrel in terms of "stars". But Gary Busey is truly the bottom of the barrel. I just hope Zolciak is one of the first ones voted off.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
I think this is the first season where I truly cannot pick a frontrunner for the season based on names alone. While I do see that they are straining to find quality stars, this is not the worst group the show has had...

News Flah Bryan2, there's life beyond West 45th Street. I haven't heard of every person, but a quick Google search and you will see they all have followings, whether a boy bander, real housewife or internet star.
I think the show has reached the point where the pro dancers are better known than most of the contestants. Unrelated, does anyone know if Chaka was ever approached for After Midnight? That would have been wonderful.
This is the first season in awhile where I haven't had to google 90% of the contestants. I'm still not entirely sure who this Vine celebrity is. Or Vine in general. But otherwise I think it's a fun group.

Dancing with the (who are they) Stars has become like the annual 100 Most Beautiful People magazine issues. About 5% of the folk you say "ok, I can see it," the rest you shake the head and ask "what the what?!" But I'll watch at least until Busey is booted off. He'll make it a party.
I don't watch the show - but, after seeing the names of the celebrities over the years, I decided the title meant the "the stars" were the professional dancers. They are generally "stars" in the dance world. That's who are being danced with. The celebrities are just the celebrities who get to dance with the dance stars.
The television interview of Gary Busey that aired some years ago (I think from Inside Edition) remains one of my favorite video clips ever. Because of the SHEER LUNACY.
I think the only true star they have on the show is Derek Hough - though I think having the Triple-Crown-Winning jockey & the train hero onare both admirable and enjoyable choices.
