I was just looking at the website for the Patchogue, Long Island production of Billy Elliot. It credits Chris D'Arienzo (who wrote the book for Rock of Ages as the book writer for this production of Billy Ellliot. Now, I'm aware that he was never part of the initial creative team for the West End, BroadwaI and touring companies. But, what is the extent of his involvement? I'm just a little confused about this change. Anyone able to shed light on this?
I would guess it's a mistake on their website. The show billing page on MTI's website does not mention Chris D'Arienzo at all and still credits book & lyrics to Lee Hall. I'm assuming you are talking about Gateway Playhouse, who did do Rock of Ages earlier this summer, which could explain the mistake.
