I know that a new way of getting tickets to Shakespeare in the Park this year is to enter the in person lottery, held in the lobby of The Public for vouchers for tickets. Now, I have done that for The Tempest and won (funnily enough, the time I won it for The Tempest I also won the virtual lotto with The Public allowing me to keep all four tickets) and won with Cymbeline.
However, when I won the tickets for Cymbeline, I had to forfeit the vouchers to someone else because of a family emergency that wouldn't have allowed me to see the show that night. Am I able to try my luck again at the in person lotto? Or are they super strict about not letting people enter more than once?
From the Public's website, referring to both the in-person lottery and the virtual lottery:
To allow as many different people as possible to attend performances throughout the summer, each person will be limited to receiving TWO (2) free tickets to TWO (2) PERFORMANCES of each production.
While I understand that the website says that, I don't think they really have a tracking system for the in-person lottery. I would see how they could do it with the digital one but I doubt the one at the Public keeps a list.
