I tried posting about this went it first happened .. but it was deleted. Maybe now that it is being talked about in the press.. we can talk about it here?
I found Bruce Villanch's comment on the whole thing to be right on point. I can't find it now.. but it was something about her 3 marriages and her lesbian phase. On Marcs facebook. If anyone wants to search for it. It was around the day it all happened.
Bruce Vilanch says on FB : i'm late to all this, but i live in hopes that her protracted cherry-picking jesus period will pass, as the drugs, the lesbianism, the husbands, etc passed in the past. that she chose to make her feelings public in the clear knowledge that it would upset her friends of four decades and more indicates to me that she may have taken a step off the deep end. this concerns me because i care about her, but it may be time for a time out. when people take the fundamentalist path, there's no room for reason. and i need at least five rooms and a bath and a half.
Am I the only one who finds Vilanch dragging out her dirty laundry for all to see sort of in bad taste?
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”
~ Muhammad Ali
If Ms. Crossley hasn't made those issues public, he has no right to discuss them, especially divorce and drugs. What type of "friend" tells the world that you once had a drug problem?
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
Gothampc, Mr Villanch posted his comments in Shaimans FB wall . Take into consideration that it was around the days of the supreme court ruling. Also take into consideration that his comment was one of many among a huge chorus of outcry towards Ms Crossley. One which included the likes of Jerry Mitchel, other ex Harlettes, and others.
Maybe your bad taste judgement should be directed at me since I am the one who cut and paste and put it here? In which case I could honestly tell you that I could care less. I find this woman to be a hypocrite, a user, and a opportunist . All these judgements from from first hand experience.
Her "dirty laundry" is her history. Bette speaks of those same issues in her books, so it's not anything new. She knows it and she chooses to ignore the fact that her entire career has been because of 'the gays'. Yes, she done drugs, had lesbian relationships and has had multiple marriages. So, that makes her a condescending hypocrite.
I was actually supposed to have lunch with her on the Friday everything exploded. I was sitting in doctors offices, so I had no idea what was going on. I'm glad I had to cancel. I've unfriended her and will have nothing to do with anyone who thinks the way she does.
Just because it's her 'religion' doesn't make it right. She now acts as if she's a recovered addict and is dragging everyone else through her twelve step program.
The whole thing is icky and gross.

My favorite was when she deleted everything on Facebook and left some sort of Up With Jesus "Keep Calm + Know God Will Provide" and she added something like, "He WILL won't he?".
It was precious. Like "Now that I've charred all my professional connections...".
