Usdan's 7/7 "Voices of Broadway"; Special 3-wk season starts 7/27

On the Town cast members Alysha Umphress and Cody Williams, Bernard Dotson of Chicago, Finian’s Rainbow and Ragtime, and Nathan Lee Graham, most recently in Priscilla, and also on film in Zoolander and Zoolander 2 will all perform at Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts' special annual musical revue "Voices of Broadway," on Tuesday July 7.   These are part of the private on-site Usdan's Festival Concerts series, at the renowned Long Island summer arts camp, exposing students to the best of the arts.

Other artists appearing this year include the Limon Dance Company, the Chameleons Mime Theater, Grammy-nominated Usdan alumna/jazz singer Jane Monheit, dance works by winners of the Young Choreographers Competition (chosen by Usdan Dance Chair/former Joffrey Ballet School director Maurice Brandon Curry), cellist Edward Arron with pianist Jeewon Park, and many more.


 


Usdan alumni include Natalie Portman, Jane Monheit, Mariah Carey, Jackie Hoffman, Seth Rudetsky, Olivia Thirlby, Lisa Gay Hamilton and Taylor Dane.


 


Usdan Center offers more than 40 programs in music, dance, theater, visual arts, creative writing, nature and ecology and chess, annually hosting more than 1,600 students from towns throughout the Tri-State New York area. No audition is needed for most courses, and transportation is provided in air- conditioned buses that depart from most New York-area neighborhoods. One- third of Usdan’s students receive scholarship assistance based on family need.
