Student Rush Tickets for these two shows

Hello,

I'll be in New York City for about two weeks this August so I was thinking about seeing some Broadway shows. However, being on a tight budget, I really want Student Rush tickets. However, I also want tickets with a good view.

So, does anyone know how the Student Rush experience for these following two shows are?

Jersey Boys

Mamma Mia!

The information I need is where the seats are in the theater, how much choice I have in choosing them (do they just randomly pass them out to people who are first in line or do you get to choose from a seating chart or something), how early I will have to go (I will only be going for evening shows at 8 PM --- do I have to go in the morning for each show? Or will the box office open for each show at times in the morning and the evening? Additionally, how early would I have to get there?), their availability, etc. I've been looking for the information everywhere and it's all been scattered so I thought I might just ask here.
