LOST WEST END - New Album Celebrates London's Forgotten Musicals (1976-2009)


Just wanted to let people know about Stage Door's forthcoming CD release 'Lost West End' (released on July 24th, 2015), an album that celebrates London's forgotten musicals. The collection reflects 30 years of musicals (ranging between 1976-2009) that have come and gone from the West End, showcasing these unique theatrical works. The album also includes several previously unreleased tracks and recordings that have yet to appear on CD. Here's the full tracklist:

I saw 8 of the shows listed above and never even heard of some of them. Seeing the list of shows on the album, I recall when Valentine's Day was on, but never saw it. I tried to search for more info about it, but its hard to find as everything just refers to Feb 14th!


Of the 8, some were alot better than others, 1 was downright terrible, but my favourite of the lot was Bernadette. It has a special place because my friends dad produced it (and didnt come out it half as badly as people think) and i knew alot of the girls from my college days, on the concept album. Despite the 80's guitar sounds i do still occasionally listen to some songs from it - mainly all the big power ballads and I still have the 7" single they released of Who Are You. They video'd one of the final rehersals in the Dominion, but unfortunately i lost it a few years back.
