Does anyone know if Gigi asks for a donation if you request a cast signed Playbill?
I plan to write to them and ask them for a cast signed Playbill before they close, but before I send out I want to be sure they do not/do ask for a donation.
I've never heard of someone being charged or asked to donate for a fan mail request. I highly doubt you'd be charged anything or asked to donate - just send a self addressed stamped envelope with your letter.

Are you talking bout Gigi, or in general? Because shows have started asking for donations on a regular basis now it seems.
I haven't heard of anyone getting a response from Gigi, either way.

To be fair, I haven't written a fan letter or mailed for an autograph request in quite sometime, so I guess I'm out of date on the practice of it.
As I wasn't aware of this new practice, I can't comment on whether or not Gigi would ask you to donate or not. To me, that seems a little ballsy since you're paying for the postage, but if it's a donation to Broadway Cares or something at least it goes to a good place.

Yeah, the requested donations are always for Broadway Cares. The first time I got a request for a donation it was from the most revival of Annie and I think it was for $5. But Hamilton asked for $60! That's just crazy, at least to me.
I guess the good thing about asking for donations this way is that the shows are able to raise money more than just twice a year.
I've never heard of that EXCEPT during the two collection times. (But I don't ask for the info, either.)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
