Does anybody have any information about where seat locations have been through TDF lately? -- specifically interested in Gigi, On the Town, Hand to God, It Shoulda Been You, or Wolf Hall. I found some things in some threads from a while back (mostly during previews), but nothing very recent. Thanks in advance!
Gigi - I rec'd a Row L Orchestra seat...house left, but not extreme. Great view; boring show. (This was just this past Saturday night.)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
box offices are required to seat TDF in the top ticket price zone (this excludes any "premium" or "special" ticket prices). So in most Theatres this means the orchestra or front mezzanine. Whether it is centered or on the side is often dependent on how sold the show is. If it's a small off broadway theatre with one price, then the seats can be anywhere.
As for the shows in question, I recently used Tdf for wolf hall part one, on a Wednesday evening. I was seated in orchestra Row C, two seats from an aisle in the left bank of seating. Perfect view.
That can't be true. I've gotten TDF for a few shows (not sold out) and sat in the last rows of the balcony with many higher price point seats available.
It's not true. At all. While I love using TDF, more often than not, I have mezz seats, not orchestra.

Its certainly not standard. I've had more rear orchestra experiences than mezzanine, and I've been a member for over 10 years. Is it possible and likely to get rear mezz? Absolutely. Is it the rule of thumb (and should be assumed)? No.
After 2 TDF B'way shows where we were in the last row (center) and then last row (side) of the balcony, we've stopped using it there. Just Off B'way for us, and seats are always great
In case anyone is interested, they now have On The 20th Century listed for Saturday night - Kristin will not be performing (and that is clearly noted on TDF).
