She would go on to star on Broadway as the original Sandy in GREASE as well as originating the role of Genevieve in THE BAKER's WIFE in Los Angeles and being the first choice to play Nanette in the 1971 revival of NO NO NANETTE. Off Broadway she also starred in HOW TO STEAL AN ELECTION which has sadly not seen a CD release.
On Television she hosted the children's program "The Magic Garden" for 12 years.
I love her voice on the cast albums she's recorded, her scoops are sensational! Wish there was more of her theater work available. Of all the bootlegs of THE BAKER'S WIFE in circulation she is featured on none of them, and I would have loved to hear her sing the score to NANETTE.

^Demas with Clifton Davis in HOW TO STEAL AN ELECTION.
^And finally she sings "Morning Glow" and "Meadowlark."
I was just listening to her the other night! The OBC of Grease is my favorite recording of the show. I wish there had been a recording of her performance in The Baker's Wife.

She's a lovely lady. I grew up with THE MAGIC GARDEN so I knew her from that way before I ever knew she originated the role of "Sandy" in GREASE.
I was listening to a radio interview the other day that she did a number of years ago and was quite surprised to learn that while she was in GREASE she was in a relationship and living together with Jeff Conaway, who was in the show as an understudy. She said that when John Travolta did the show and eventually went on to do OVER HERE! he lived in Jersey and the commute was a bit much for him so he would stay over their apartment. Sadly their relationship ended after 5 years and yes, his drug addiction did play a role in the demise of their relationship.
It's too bad that "Sandy" is her only Broadway role. Before GREASE she was the lead in NO, NO NANETTE but she was fired out of town and replaced with the more seasoned Susan Watson. She wound up being cast in THE BAKER'S WIFE several years after her success in GREASE but yet again she was fired out of town and replaced by Patti LuPone.
