Today I checked my mail to find a package from Roundabout Theatre Company. I was confused when I opened it and saw the 2-Disc recording of On the Twentieth Century. At first I panicked and thought I had ordered a physical copy in my sleep sometime earlier this year, but then I saw the note!

"Dear ---,

Please accept this CD as a gift from Roundabout Theatre Company for your February 21st, 2015 cancelled performance of On the 20th Century! Enjoy the CD! Have a great day and thank you for supporting the Roundabout Theatre Company!
Best Wishes, Thom Walsh"

What a thoughtful way to apologize for that missed performance. I have to wonder if they sent these to everyone who had a ticket for that night? Has anyone else received this? It may be possible I got one since I sent a (somewhat strongly worded) note to their customer service to get them reschedule my hiptix for near future date I could actually go (which they graciously did).

Just wanted to share this awesome customer service move from Roundabout!

(hadn't seen anyone else mention this, but apologies if it has already been discussed in one of the OTTC threads)

I had a great experience with Roundabout too, When I saw Cabaret last year, it happened to be the same day as Alan Cumming being out, though that had nothing to do with this. Anyway, so out seats in which we punched weren't there, again very early previews. So, we told the usher who did nothing eventually going to the house manager who gave us comp tickets to other seats to that same performance since there were cancelations since Alan wan't in the performance. So then, we wrote to Roundabout to explain what happened and that our seats weren't there (Row NN of Mezz) and they gave us comp tickets to another performance!

Glad to hear you had a good expierence with Roundabout too!

Very generous of them to do that for you.

I had a similar situation, while not exactly like that, over spring break.

I got this phone call from the Palace Theater asking if I would be willing to give up my seat in the mezzanine (for AAIP) to, I think, the director (or someone associated with the show) who wanted to sit up there.  It was previews.  They told me they would switch me out to another seat.

I called them up and they were very nice, thanking me for doing that.  They told me to go up to the box office when I got to the theater.  I told the gentleman who was working the line out in front and he was like, 'Oh, yes…follow me.'  They opened up a separate window, changed out the ticket, and had the gentleman escort me to my new seat….which was a great one.

This is something that might not be uncommon, but it was a nice little surprise.

Not a CD, but a better seat!

I know this might sound like an odd comparison (and off topic), but I really think Round About is like the "adult" equivalent to Disney productions when it comes to offering and helping people with disabilities get proper seats.  Sometimes it can be a struggle to get vision seating, but with these two organizations it is always professional, courteous, kind, and so much more.  They've never made me feel like a nuisance, etc.  I had such a positive experience when I saw Cabaret for the first time that I saw for a second time just over a month later.  It was similar with the Lion King, not exactly my favorite show, but I went to Aladdin last month just based on customer service from that show. It was a fun show that I really enjoyed, I had a great time, and again the staff was just awesome (from when they take your reservation to when they say goodnight).

I hope they do that for everyone!  I haven't received it and I was one of the people impacted by this cancellation!

If they do plan on sending them I would hope they would have notified the ticket holders so they wouldn't have already bought the new recording?
