Usdan - 5/17 Final Open House for 2015

Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts, the renowned summer arts day camp whose alumni include Jackie Hoffman (from Broadway's "On the Town"), Natalie Portman, Mariah Carey and jazz star Jane Monheit, will hold its final Open House for the 2015 season on Sunday May 17 from 11 AM to 2 PM.  Usdan's 48th season, which begins June 29, features many new programs, including, in Dance:  Hip hop (for grades 4-12, intermediate level), Beginning Combination Dance (grades 4-12, incorporating jazz, lyrical, theater and modern dance styles), and Lyrical Dance (grades 4-12, combining ballet and jazz).   There is a full drama program including musical theater, with frequent performances in Usdan's several theaters.

 

There will also be an additional 3-week season added, which will begin the first day of the season.  So, there are now two 3-week seasons, as well as 4 and 7 weeks -- total flexibility!

Families who cannot make the Open House may make individual appointments for other days.

 

Open Houses give families the chance to obtain full information on the more than 40 programs at the Center, and to tour the magnificent 200-acre Long Island woodland campus.  Students attend from New York City and throughout the Tri-State Area, transported daily by air-conditioned buses.

 

A special Usdan feature is the Festival Concerts series, where often world-famous artists give special educational performances.  These include current casts of Broadway shows, as well as music and dance.
