I'm curious if anyone else on the board saw this on Saturday. I had the displeasure of seeing the 9pm show. 

Everything was in total disarray. When I arrived at 8:45 there was a huge line that wrapped around the block. Upon finally getting in there were huge lines for the restroom. The show didn't start until 9:30pm. 

The show itself was very dull. I thought it would be more of a parody of Grey Gardens but instead it was a play that didn't know what it was. The only good parts of the evening were Jinkx and Mink Stole singing. The rehashing of Little Edie quotes were cute the first time but then they didn't stop. Most of the new material written by Peaches Christ wasn't funny and she is not a good actress. 

For some reason they boasted about the cast of 14 even though most of them were just people dressed as cats or raccoons. Thomas Dekker used to be hot but I don't know what happened to him. It also felt a little sad to see someone with a decent career in this joke of a show. Mink Stole I understand being in it because it's her schtick. Bob the Drag Queen was forgettable. 

For those interested Jinkx did an amazing version of "All That Jazz" and "I Dreamed a Dream." She was accompanied by two dancers (I use that word loosely) who played the documentarians. Being so pleased with her singing made me wish I had just waited to see VAUDEVILLAINS II: BRINGING UP BABY.

Thomas Dekker was in this?

That really is odd.

He seems to have settled into a nice career on the indie horror circuit.

I'm assuming he was in this because he was in ALL ABOUT EVIL which Peaches Christ did (and I now have zero interest in seeing).

Yea, skip that one. 85% of indie horror is just a bunch of friends with a camera and no budget.

All About Evil was horrendous.

He's openly bi, meaning he's admitted to sleeping with guys when he was younger even if he dates women now.

I saw the 7pm show, and agree with everything you posted, Clyde. What a snoozefest. Peaches Christ was not a good Big Edie, or a good anything for that matter. The Little Edie schtick got old fast. Luckily, our show started on time, but when I walked out and saw that crowd wrapped around the block I felt bad for what they were about to have to sit through.

 

I went because I wanted to see Mink Stole, but she was barely in it. However, I loved her performance of the French "Bang Bang" and I am definitely going to buy her album because of it.

 

I'm glad I won the tickets for this and didn't have to pay a penny, because it was the most self-indulgent dreck I've ever seen.

Jinkx has a lot of talent. I saw her belt out Last Midnight and rap the Witches Rape from Into the Woods at the Battle of the Seasons Tour in March. She's got a lotta talent, and I assume her Little Edie should just come in small doses, like Snatch Game or a 10 minute appearance during a show of hers.

I suffered thru the 9pm as well. Jinkx was an absolute delight and powered through despite some major audio issues with her mic. Everything else was embarrassingly bad, though probably would come off far better in a small bar or club venue.

Dekker still seemed handsome from down front.

Those cats and raccoons were horrifyingly bad.

As I was sitting in the theatre watching I wondered if the reason they did it for one night only was so the word couldn't get out how horrible it was.

I also felt bad for poor Ginorma Desmond, as Whiskers the cat, who was made to wear an orange onesie with white faux fur glued to the chest, orange fauz fur pinned around her calves, that awful orange faux fur hood and cat make up from a third grade play and then crawl and roll around the stage floor for 25 minutes before the show started as several queens decided to pose for pictures on the lip of the stage so their friends could see that they went, and then they close the house curtain on the poor thing as she rolls around the apron..

There's clips from previous performances on YouTube that I saw a while back. I love both Jinkx and Grey Gardens...but wouldn't ever go see that show. It just screamed, "NOPE"
