Has anyone seen this yet?  I may have to take a trip into NYC as its one of my favorite Jacobean tragedies.  It's got everything:  Religious hypocrisy, sex, incest, violence, people losing their feckin' minds...Really good cast, too!

Tis Pity She's A Whore at Red Bull Theater

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

I miss the comfort and tradition of the Lucille Lortel.

At the Duke Theater, you definitely want to avoid the side seats.  Those seats should be roped off, they are so bad.  Unfortunately, the side seats at the Duke Theater are WAY off to the side so you'll need to have your neck turned the entire show which is quite uncomfortable.  Also, the lighting designer perhaps didn't realize that there's a bright light shining directly into the eyes of the audience member's faces during the majority of the show (when you're seated in the side section).  Needless to say, it's quite annoying to have a bright light in your eyes the entire show.

They also might want to consider casting more accomplished actors.  Instead of actors who only perform in repertory theaters like the Pearl and Red Bull.

re casting, these are mostly extremely accomplished actors, contrary to your description. Philip Goodwin, Amelia Pedlow, Rocco Sisto, Derek Smith, Franchelle Stewart Dorn are among the finest classical actors around. Christopher Innvar is less known classically but has been in boatloads of important roles, and Everett Quinton is a living icon. I have not seen the show yet, and I am not all that crazy about Red bull's work, but don't fault the casting.
