I've seen the show on West End 2 months ago,

it was amazing.

Geronimo Rauch's performance was unbelievable,

and it stuck to my head since.

I'm going to be in NYC on August.

Should I watch the show again?

Is James Barbour as good as Gero?

I dont want to be stuck with comparisons,

because it'll ruin the show for me..

Help!

i'll be glad to have some reccomendations of good musicals.

Comparing and contrasting performers and performances is exciting when it comes to live theater.

Each and every performance is unique in its own way.

I don't think seeing Barbour will affect your memories of Rauch.

This is an excellent point.

I would also suggest seeing a new show over a show you've seen.

There are so many excellent show right now.

Based on what you've mentioned I think you would enjoy Finding Neverland.

Despite the critics a lot of people on here have loved the show and it has a pop-oriented score.

I loved both Alladin and Les Miz, good choices

For new shows that opened in 2014-2015: On the Twentieth Century (Stars Kristin Chenoweth), Something Rotten, The King and I, Finding Neverland, An American in Paris. I haven't seen the last four yet but those are getting good buzz on the message boards and also good reviews

Note: On the Twentieth Century actually closes July 5, unless it extends (I missed the part where your visit will be in Aug)

Yes, see Phantom again. I've found that each time I saw it (I've seen it three times now) brought something new that I didn't experience before. With the right actor in the title role, it can almost feel like you're seeing a different show. (I haven't seen Barbour, but his performance has been getting excellent word-of-mouth, so he could be worth catching!)

A lot of the responses are frankly, silly.

If you found it amazing in London, then of course go again, as I am sure James Barbour is great.

Me personally, I would see something else, but that's only because my mum forces me me see it every couple of years, and yes, GR was great.

Why don't you go? Why don't you leave Manderley? He doesn't need you... he's got his memories. He doesn't love you, he wants to be alone again with her. You've nothing to stay for. You've nothing to live for really, have you?

I think if you enjoy a musical and want to see it again  and again and put money into live theatre there is no down side.

So if you love "Phantom" that much, go for it!

Phantom is a great show, but since you saw it 2 months ago, I would try seeing something else instead! There are so many fabulous shows open right now! Maybe see The King and I or The Visit. Both are pretty dark and deep and epic

This. Don't feel too much pressure to see something else if your heart is really set on seeing Phantom again. It's all up to you in the end. :)

I hate wishing that a show would close early (ideally before mid-May)

but....in this case....
