So two things:

1 ). I believe she's softened her stance on the film in recent years as she's - perhaps grudgingly - recognized its cult status.

2). I like that in the related articles section below this story, Queerty suggests I read: "Chris Crocker’s Second Hardcore Bareback Film Debuts At Lucas Entertainment"

She was fortunate enough to have been in many classic Hollywood films, and was wonderful in them, but she's just a pain in the ass. I would not expect a true account of her experience. She's writing this book because she needs the money.

But what about the...the...the film she did with BRANDO that was the hit of all of Cannes? Why can't she write a book about the positive things?

Maybe the deluxe version will come with a video of 1/3 of Master Class.

Agreed, she needs the money.

She has not had a good payday in quite some time and ought to be a cautionary tale to any actor or actress who thinks that being a star can protect you from ruin. Rumor has it she has tried to sell her Oscar and her Emmy, but can't because the statues are co-owned by the respective Academys.

Ms. Dunaway has a rep for being an unpleasant nightmare.

Faye Dahling,

When I needed a little extra green, I did tv commercials. Yes, they are beneath me, but a girl's gotta eat, amirite? I did cat food, coffee and Tuesday Morning commercials.

So put on a brave face, grit your dentures and do what you have to do.

It's still really sad that in an age when there were so few truly great movie stars, one of them fell - however deservedly - so far so fast.

It is sad, henrik, especially because she was SO talented. Her performance in NETWORK is one of the best acting performances I've seen. And she is so spectacular in CHINATOWN and BONNIE & CLYDE. It's sad to see what she became knowing what a one-of-a-kind talent she had.

Faye Dunaway did achieve overnight success. In only her 3rd film (BONNIE & CLYDE) she became an international superstar and eclipsed actresses that were in the business far longer than she had.

In retrospect it was really quite a remarkable rise...

It's one of the things I admire about the way Julia Roberts handles her career. Love her or hate her, you have to admit she has wisely moved into character roles, since vehicles with her alone above the title are less likely to come her way, at least roles that would be suitable and/or make a dime.  Both NORMAL HEART and AUGUST OSAGE,  top shelf productions to be sure, weren't carried by Roberts.  She did well by both, earning major award nominations. Shrewd, pragmatic and career enhancing.  And both roles stretched her, whether you like her performances or not (and many here did not).

Dunaway wanted to leave MOMMIE in her dust, but then went to camp hell with SUPERGIRL.  She was dreadful in MASTER CLASS, which I had to see in Boston (friend connected to the production) and it's typical of her ego to hold on tightest to a role that she is neither right for nor created.  And speaking of AUGUST OSAGE: If Dunaway had managed her career properly, she might've had a go at Meryl's role.  In fact, I think she could've played it onstage and moved away from Crawford.  But she still seeks the bigger than life diva-enhancing parts, only dragging the wire hangers onto every sound stage she enters.

Auggie, you have to also remember  that Julia Roberts was given to this world by the Gods and her presence here is a gift to all mankind. So of course she's going to choose roles perfect for her since she, herself...is perfect.

Little known fact - The "pearly gates" that everyone talks about are actually a replica of Julia's glorious mouth and her smile that open up for you to pass through when you make your way into heaven. Strange, but true.

I don't think Julia Roberts is doing well just because she takes character roles. She can certainly carry a movie like the best of them: newsflash, women over 40 can carry a movie (this little movie called GRAVITY starring a 49-year-old Sandra Bullock who was practically the only person in the movie made over $700 million worldwide). Roberts has never had an issue being part of an ensemble regardless of whatever age she was, but what truly separates her from Dunaway is that everybody loves working with her and everybody has always loved working with her no matter how big of a star she is.

That may be the case now, but stories about the crew on Hook nick naming her Tinker-hell are out there.

Ms. Dunaway would not be amused at the discussion of that woman in her thread.

I would be curious to hear Faye's thoughts about working with Frank Perry pre- and post- his breakup with Eleanor.

You think JR could get this much drama out of an EGG???

Let's face it.  Her film career is over.  Honestly, if she could put her bad behavior in check - not something I personally give a **** about, but understand how it affects an actor's career - I could imagine her getting a juicy supporting role in a prestige cable drama.  Would be nice to see her get a career revival on tv.

Just checked her imdb.

Wow.  I had no idea she hasn't worked since 2010.

She would actually be perfect for that. Murphy has already dealt with Lea Michele so he's used to it.
