Hamilton Cancellation Line |
If anyone is in the line today and wants to make some extra money, would absolutely love two tickets for my fiancé and I. I'm at a conference at the Marriott just above the theater and will do lunch/snack/coffee runs and pay well for your time! Text me at 347 271 0197 if interested - thank you!!

I've been lurking on this board for months now, trying to get as much information as possible for when I try the line myself for the first time. I finally made an account now to make a post of my own and see if anyone has any last minute advice.
My aunt and I are planning on trying the line on Sunday 3/5, hoping to catch Jordan Fisher's last performance. We're aiming to get there at around 6 am. If anyone has any advice or information or experience with the line on a Sunday, please let me know.
I've also seen people on here looking for others to wait in line for them in exchange for paying for their tickets as well and if anyone's interested in paying for our tickets, we would definitely be willing to get an extra ticket or two for you. Like I said, we're aiming to get there at around 6 am, so we should be one of the first in line, I think.
Thanks in advance everyone and thanks to everyone who's already posted their experiences and tips on here for all of us to read :)
I just did the cancellation line yesterday! Here's my account:
I arrived around 10:30am and there were about 8 people in line at this point, with six of them wanting singles. No one showed up behind me for another two hours or so. We were all able to sit on the steps. Nice mix of folks - first woman arrived around 6ish. The next came between 7:15-9:20, then me.
I'll skip the other specifics like people coming by, asking questions or telling their experiences. I'll say that around noonish or so, a worker came out and offered premium tickets for $800, which no one took. She also mentioned that there would probably be no SRO tickets available. An hour or two later, another worker came out and counted how many people were there and mentioned vaguely that we all should be able to get tickets. First lady came back out a little later and offered those premium tickets again....crickets ??
Around 3:30, second worker came back out and started calling people in to purchase cancellation tickets for $199. He would call in one or two at a time and stopped right before me. They all got front row seats and off they went!
More people were behind me now (maybe 6-10) and at 5:45 they started calling people in again. I was first and got row J, seat 106 orchestra ticket also for $199 and so did the mom and daughter behind me. After that, I left to eat so I'm not sure what happened next.
So I waited for about seven hours and it was an awesome experience.

I didn't get your PM so I sent you one instead! But yes, I am still doing the line tomorrow :)
If anyone is planning on doing the cancellation line Friday April 21st or is willing to stand in line for me in exchange for a ticket please pm me!
Hey everyone, I've been following this thread since late last year. My boyfriend and I are going to New York in the first week of May and hope to catch the evening show on either May 4th/5th (Thursday/Friday). Cancellation tickets seem like the only way to get in since the resale tickets are so ridiculously expensive. What time should we arrive to make sure our chances of getting in are high? Do we still need to arrive before dawn? We were hoping to go there around 9am.
Also, if anyone reading this is looking for a pair of tickets for either of these dates, do send me a PM and we can work something out.
Is there a cancellation line in Chicago at the Private Bank Theatre for Hamilton like in NYC? Or has anyone tried the same day 10$ ticket lottery once they got to Chicago? Looking for two tickets for the 7pm on Friday March 24th. Thanks!!
There is a cancellation line for Chicago but it's been my experience that there are always "premium" tickets available for nearly all shows. Watch them and usually a few days before the show they go down to the next level in price. We recently got first row balcony seats ($599 seats the day before) for $179. The theater in Chicago is 4 times bigger than the theater in NYC so the demand isn't as strong and you can usually get tickets below $200 anyway if you're patient.
Nobody knows. Some days there are 5 tickets given out, some days 28. Number of people in line will depend on day of the week and the weather. Saturday? Who knows.
got there on a whim at 540 yesterday and was 4th in line. Got a lottery second row aisle seat. It was great. I know that there were at least 5 other tickets given out after me.

But see Tuesday was an anomaly because of the ticket release. There were a TON of scalpers there trying to get tickets, so I'm sure many people saw the crowd and were like "nope not doing that." I definitely would. So the line was relatively short. They did give out 22 seats and at least 3 standing (a very good number), but on a typical day you wouldn't be able to just hop in line at 5:40pm and have a good chance at getting a ticket, especially on a day as warm as it was
I finally went to the canc line on Wed 3/8. I got there at 8:00am and got 2nd row tickets. I was about #10 in line and there were 5 people after me and we all got tickets to the matinee. We received the tickets at about 11:30am. Brilliant.
Hey everyone! If anyone would like to see the show on any upcoming Sunday or Thursday (starting tomorrow), I would be happy to wait in the cancellation line and purchase tickets for you (1 or 2 tickets) if you are willing to help pay for my ticket (and my friend's ticket, if you are getting 2) in exchange for waiting. PM me if you are interested!
Quick question! Is there a difference between the Tuesday and Wednesday shows? And is there a difference between matinee and evening shows? I'm going to be in NYC from Monday the 20th - Thursday the 23rd and my two days to see Hamilton are Tuesday and Wednesday so I'm just not sure which to go to. I mean it's Hamilton so they will all be awesome!

Wednesday is a 2 show day so you double your chances of getting in. I did the line last Wed, 3/8, got in for the matinee. When the show let out at 5pm, there was NO line for the pm show. Not sure if some people already got tickets though.

Hi everyone! I'm planning on standing in the cancellation line this week, as long as the shows aren't cancelled due to the storm. I plan to get there early, but I want to make sure I stand in the right place. Where exactly does the cancellation line start? Does it start at the stage door? I just want to make sure that if I get there and no one else is there that I'm at the right place. Thanks so much!
To anyone even considering doing cancellation line tomorrow during the snow storm thinking there will be more cancellations than usual, I'm begging you, for your health and safety, DO NOT DO IT. If there is a show tomorrow, people will come. Cancellation tickets will not be affected very much, if at all. During the snow storm last month, there were 120+ people in line, and we had in total 16 seats and 3 standing come back. That is fairly average. Do yourself a favor, and please stay inside!!!
