Hamilton Cancellation Line |
I don't think it's ever been earlier than the box office opening. Usually it's anywhere from a few hours before the shows starts to right when the show starts and you've got to hustle to your seat
Hi -- yesterday tickets were given out from several hours before until just after 7 pm including the standing room tickets. Still seeking someone who can line up early Sunday!
Just curious, could someone share information on the Hamilton Standing Room. I haven't found any recent posts on SRO.
Hello! Anyone wanting to line up Sunday in exchange for a cancellation ticket? Sat evg a possibility too. Let me know!

Hey all, anyone know if any of the nearby hotels are willing/able to store luggage? I get into the city on Friday to see the show that night and I'm staying on the island with family but don't want to have to bring my backpack into the theater with me. I know all the luggage check places nearby close too early for me to use them. Thanks!
I've successfully left a suitcase at the Palms restaurant (right across from the Gershwin, I think it's on 50th) once before. They'll hold it in their coat check area if you ask nicely. There's no fee, but I gave a $5 tip when I picked the bag back up. Some of the theatre district hotels will probably do this too (maybe try the Marriott Marquis, right next to the Richard Rodgers; they are accustomed to dealing with Hamilton cancellation line folks running in and out all day for restrooms/etc, so I bet it won't be the first time they've had such a request). Good luck!
Hello everyone!
I'm planning to head up to NYC on a Wednesday (not sure when) but have no clue what time I should plan to get there for the cancellation line. I know that times vary depending on the day, but I'd hope to be one of the first few in line.
Last month I stood in line on a Saturday, arrived around 7:05 and was about 15th/16th in line. I ended up getting the last ticket for the matinee right at 2:00! I would assume that weekends are a bit more busy since most people aren't working and don't have school, so I'm not sure if I should get there around the same time I did before or a different time.

I was planning to do the line this past Friday, so I stopped by on Wednesday and Thursday morning to do research. On Wednesday, I stopped by at 6:15am. There were twenty people on line. Later in the day around 4pm, I asked the people at the front (they'd not gotten into the matinee but I think they said they'd arrived around 6am) what time the first matinee people had gotten there and they said around 2am.
One potential caveat is that it was spring break for many people last week. There were TONS of youths on line. Maybe this week will be a bit tamer.
Contrarily on Thursday when I stopped by, there was only a handful of people on line around 7am.
I hope this is helpful!
I did the cancellation line yesterday with a friend. We planned to get there at 9am, but I had insomnia and got there at 8am. We were, I think, 16/17 in line for tickets (not 16 or 17 people, accounting for single people in line buying two tix). If we'd gotten there at 9, we wouldn't have gotten seats, but could have gotten standing room.
The first people in line got there around 6am. The box office offered a single in early afternoon, which was taken by someone further back in the line, the only person who wanted a single. No more tickets were given out until 5pm (one pair), then 5:30 (another single), then 3 tickets at 6pm. Then everything else happened in the last 15 minutes. My friend and I got J101 and J102 at 7:01pm. It's very exciting. One more person behind us got the last seat, and then we heard there were a lot of standing room after that.
Almost everyone was in Rows H and J. There were some in Row A (unclaimed lotto) and one pair in Front Mezz. It's fun to get into the theater and see everyone you've been waiting with all day. My ticket was $220.
The wait wasn't bad at all. Everyone was friendly and excited, mostly people from out of town who'd never seen the show, two families with tweens. No professional line sitters, but one former line sitter who was waiting for himself. He knew where all the bathrooms and Starbucks and good pizza were. I brought a cushion, which I was very happy to have as the day wore on. It's much colder under that marquee than you'd expect from the weather forecast. I think it was in the 60's yesterday, but I wore my winter coat and definitely needed it.

Hi all,
I study and work part-time so I have flexibility in the next month (from now until end of May) - willing to wait very early in line (1 person) in exchange for help in buying a ticket (not Tuesday or Thursday). Please pm if interested, thanks!

When I went last week, mine was $199 in Row H side orchestra (one of the unused wheelchair seats) but another line person who got in on the same day paid $229 for Row J center.
I did the cancellation line on Easter Sunday and tickets for center orchestra row J were holiday price at $229
Hey everyone! I went and saw Hamilton last week and I thought I'd share my Cancellation Line experience.
I was in New York for spring break beginning on Monday April 10th. I visited the Richard Rogers theatre after exploring Times Square for a bit and the Usher there told me about the Cancellation Line. He said just get there around 10-12 and you'll probably get Hamilton tickets (which was not correct). I decided to wait a little while and the next day I just entered the lottery using two phones. Of course, I was unsuccessful and I decided I would go to the Cancellation Line the next day. I knew getting there between 10 to 12 would not secure me tickets to the show, so I arrived at 6:55. There were about 21 people in line, so I figured it was hopeless since historically only the first 10 people in line get tickets. It is worth noting that on that Wednesday, there was a matinee showing, which equals more people trying to see the show(s). Thursday was my last day in New York, and I was not going to leave without seeing Hamilton, so I arrived at the theatre with my mom at 3:30 AM. We were second in line and there was one girl in front of us (who arrived at 12:00 AM). Then began the waiting. We made friends with the girl in the front and I got coffee and donuts which was helpful to get through the morning and the next couple of people arrived between 5:30 and 6:00. Once they showed up it turned into the best experience. We all got to know each other and we were making friends with everyone in the line, also my mom and I periodically swapped places in line throughout the day so each of us could get lunch, take breaks, etc. I feel like if you're gonna do the Cancellation Line, it should always be with multiple people, cuz it really did make the day feel shorter. When the box office opened at 10:00 AM, they did come out and offer the premium seats, but no one wanted them (800$ seats). At around 6:00 PM, the girl at the front of the line got her tickets. They were two front row seats for 229$ because a person who won the lottery that day did not claim their tickets (WTF???). At around 6:25 PM, they called second in line and I got one ticket for myself, and mom got two tickets, one for my little brother and one for her (all were 229$ a piece). They were all 10th row seats and we had an incredible view. As I assumed, around the first 10 people got in once the show was starting. The show was incredible, as was the whole experience of waiting in the cancellation line. But remember, you don't necessarily have to get there at 3:30 AM. That was just me and my mom being crazy (: The people we were in line with were incredibly nice, the wait did not feel like the 15 hours it was, and I ended up seeing Hamilton on April 13th 2017 at 7:00 PM in the 10th row. It was awesome and if you're trying to see this show, I highly recommend the Cancellation Line. It's a lot more enjoyable than what you'd probably expect, and I seriously think it's the best way to get Hamilton tickets.
Hello! I am currently in line with a few friends and will ideally have some additional tickets to sell, for the Wednesday April 26th, night showing. Please let me know if you'd be interested. We can let you know as soon as possible what the outcome is when the box office opens. DM me! Thanks!
My partner and I will be in line very early on Friday, 4/28, and would be willing to buy 2 tickets for folks in exchange for help in buying our tickets. PM me if interested!

Pm'd you!
also -- a general question for anyone who has done the line lately... this might seem silly but do they allow you to sit? people are talking about waits of 12 hours or more so I assume you're not standing the entire time? do they allow tailgating chairs or is it pretty much the ground or nothing?
thanks!
I have the same question. Going tomorrow-thoughts?

As someone who waited the line for the second time Friday, yes, they do very much allow you to sit. Most folks sit in fact! In regards to folding chairs, those are supposedly not allowed anymore, as per rules on a sign outside the box office. Many people bring either cushions or blankets to sit on though.
Hey everyone!
Posted a couple of weeks back but I guess it was too early - my boyfriend and I are going to New York next week and are going to queue at the cancellation line on either Thursday (4 May), Friday (5 May) or Saturday (6 May) - if you're interested getting us our tickets in exchange for a pair of your own, do let me know!
Thanks!
A big THANK YOU to everyone here that provided invaluable information on the 'how to do it" process. I followed everything to a T, I did this last Thursday from 7.00am with tickets secured at 3.30pm. Maybe it was just the day but the line of fellow liners were fantastic and we all bonded. It was all happy families inside the theatre for the reunion several hours later. So thank you Vermont, New Orleans, Brooklyn, Sacramento and London it was great and the time just flew by. Big shout out to Hamilton for the opportunity. If anyone is in doubt doing the line - don't, it is SO worth it.
