FORTITUDE: Michael Gambon, Stanley Tucci, disturbed Scandinavians & murderous polar bears

Anyone else watching FORTITUDE, the new Sky TV (UK) / Pivot (US) co-production? I'm two episodes in and absolutely hooked. It's a pretty damn intriguing psychological thriller set in a fictional Norwegian arctic town and features a really fantastic large international cast including Stanley Tucci, Michael Gambon, Sofie Grabol (of the original THE KILLING), Luke Treadaway (original London CURIOUS INCIDENT), Richard Dormer, Christopher Eccleston, Jessica Raine (Call the Midwife) and lots of other actors with dots and accents over the O's in their names. It's written by Simon Donald, creator of the brilliant LOW WINTER SUN (the original UK version).

The plot is way too complex and sprawling for me to summarize, but suffice it to say, you will encounter a town full of people with secrets and violent tendencies, a beautiful and mysterious setting in the arctic, sharp writing, superb performances and, yes, killer man eating polar bears. For fans of The Killing, The Missing, The Fall, Low Winter Sun, The Bridge, Broadchurch etc. It's airing (and available on demand) on Pivot in the US and Sky Atlantic in the UK.
