Say goodbye to the internet. The FCC just voted to turn the internet over to the government. It's the end of the internet as you know it.

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Better the government than allow it to be controlled by big corporations. But then, we know who controls the government. We're ****ed either way.

"Better the government than allow it to be controlled by big corporations."

Comcast has made huge donations to Obama. Who do you think is going to get the breaks from the government. Rather have big corporations controlling than government trying to regulate anything.

There's an invention called a radio. If you tune it properly, you can catch waves flying through the air that carry such things as news and music. I'm sorry, the radio doesn't have a link that I can post here.

I believe it's actually a positive step.

I'm glad net neutrality will be preserved.

"I believe it's actually a positive step."

Why would you think that? The government will tax it out of existence.

Lord forbid we treat the internet like water and electricity, and work to keep to available and affordable for everyone.

Here's what the ACLU had to say:

"This is a victory for free speech, plain and simple. Americans use the internet not just to work and play, but to discuss politics and learn about the world around them. The FCC has a critical role to play in protecting citizens' ability to see what they want and say what they want online, without interference. Title II provides the firmest possible foundation for such protections. We are still sifting through the full details of the new rules, but the main point is that the Internet, the primary place where Americans exercise their right to free expression, remains open to all voices and points of view."

Goth's thread has sent the stockmarket plummeting - Amazon, Netflix, Facebook have all taken huge tumbles...this could tip us over into another depression.
