Hi, I am thinking of going to try and get rush tickets for the show tomorrow morning?

Was wondering if anyone has done so yet, and if so what is the latest time that I should arrive?

Thanks

Last I checked they don't have a rush, just SRO which is $35 and sold in the morning if the show is sold out.

By RUSH I meant SRO.... I thought all the shows are sold out?

Every show I have looked at is sold out...

udontchap- did you end up getting in line for SRO? Just wondered what the line is like!

Any updates on SRO? Looking to potentially try it on Sunday and I know the box office does not open until 12. Does it seem like SRO has been selling out right when the box office opens?

Do you know if the box office allows one or two tickets per person?

Rather than start a new thread, I am quickly hijacking this one.

Looks like the thread about Fish In The Dark re ticket prices being raised to $450/$500 has been quickly removed. Any idea what happened. It was there one minute & in less than 10 minutes it was gone. Wonder if it had to do with the remarks re jews etc.

I'm sure it did have to do with those remarks. As well as the remarks about the gay community. That's the only reason I can think of for why they would delete that thread.

That is what I thought also but I wanted to know for sure. Anytime anyone makes comments like that against any group, they deserve to have their posts censored or removed.

I am going to be visiting from Texas on March 26 and 27, and cannot afford scalper prices on these tickets! So I am trying for SRO. I fear people camping overnight for these like they do for TV tapings, will that be the case? If I get there at 7am is that early enough for 1 ticket? Has anyone tried it lately? Where is the standing room anyway? Do you have a good view? I did see a last row balcony ticket for about $225 but that seems crazy. Thanks, Larry is my favorite comedian and I can't imagine being in NY and missing this show!

The standing room is at the back of the mezzanine. I can't speak for this production, but the sight lines from there for FENCES and A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE were good.

I rushed Curious Incident this afternoon, but wanted to swing by and see how Standing Room at Fish in the Dark is on the first weekend after opening night. At approximately 11:30 (half-hour prior to the box office opening, since today is a Sunday) there were 9 people in line, and they have 10 standing room spots. I obviously don't know if the first people in line were camped out, or even if they got there early, but it looks like arriving an hour beforehand will suffice at this point in time. I hope this helps! I saw the show once already, and I have tickets for the fins performance on June 7, but I'll definitely be trying SRO once or twice between now and then!

It's been a week, has anyone else tried? Anxious for updates since all the extra press has happened (Charlie Rose, etc).

I read in another thread that the standing room tickets are hard to get. But there was no elaboration. Help please! Has anyone here tried in the past 2 weeks? I am trying in a few days and am getting really nervous! Flying up from Texas and will only be there 2 days. Thank you :)

Ironically StubHub prices are only going up. I thought they would drop closer to the actual dates. But I can't afford $300 for a balcony ticket anyway. Updated On: 3/24/15 at 12:36 AM

@inkybrown Have you tried for tickets on StubHub at the last minute (less than 2 hours before a show)? Sometimes if someone is desperate to recoup some of their original investment on a ticket and showtime is only a couple hours away, they'll drop the price considerably (or at least to a more reasonable price).

Thanks, well I wouldn't have thought to cut it so close. Don't you have to print out the tickets? I won't have access to a printer or anything if it is etickets. How reputable are those sellers anyway? I might try that as a last option if SRO doesn't work.

I've never had a problem with StubHub. I've found that the tickets are very much legitimate, and sometimes they offer better deals than most discount sites for Broadway. When you cut it so close, it's usually either a PDF print-out or you need to pick the tickets up from the StubHub office in Midtown.

I went this past Saturday just to check it out and I was told people were lined up down the block for SRO. Take that for what it's worth. Saturday is usually the busiest day for Broadway so a weekday may be your best bet.

Why would they line up around the block? Aren't there only 10 spots?

I would never attempt rush or SRO for a Saturday performance. That's the busiest day for any show. I might attempt a Tuesday or a Thursday show, but it may appear that you would still need to get to the box office at 8:00am to secure a spot.

I see that for tonight's show which is in a few hours, Stubhub has dropped to around $150 for balcony. But the problem is I am going alone, and those tickets are only sold in pairs. Doesn't help me. Say, is it legal to try to buy a ticket in front of the theatre before the show, worst case scenario?

If you are very desperate to see the show, there are several things you can try--especially if you are going by yourself.

The first option (and something a bunch of people don't seem to know is that fish in the dark seems to be releasing a decent amount of tickets (maybe around 10-15 per show) for many weekday performances a few days prior. So during this upcoming weekend, I would suggest looking for shows for the beginning of next week. It doesn't seem like any balcony seats are being released, but many in the first row of the mezzanine and in the orchestra. This should be your best option as you are only looking for one ticket.

If this somehow doesn't work, try contacting individual sellers on stubhub to see if they are willing to sell a single ticket. If that doesn't work, hangout at the boxoff to see if someone is trying to sell ticket (unlikely) or see if there is a cancellation (more likely, and you will also get the best deal that way if it is under an hour before the performance). Hope I helped, and you'll love the show.
