COLUMBIA COLLEGE THEATRE DEPARTMENT PRESENTS OKLAHOMA! March 11-21, 2015 Getz Theatre 72 E. 11th Street- Chicago
Book by Oscar Hammerstein II Music by Richard Rogers Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II Directed by Ashton Byrum Musical Direction by Phillip Caldwell Choreography by Courtney Ring
The high-spirited rivalry between farmers and cowboys in Oklahoma territory is the rugged landscape where a handsome cowboy and a winsome farm girl meet and fall in love. The road to true love is never smooth, but with these two headstrong romantics holding the reins, love’s journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride on a country road.
Director Ashton Byrum is an Assistant Professor of Theatre and Coordinator of the Musical Theatre Performance program at Columbia College Chicago. After a long acting career in New York, and around the world, he earned his MFA in Directing from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) in 2010.
