Hi every one . I know that this subject must have been discussed so many times, but I really need advice .

So , I live in Israel, and in here musical theater is not advanced - if you are famous and pretty with an ok voice - like Bar Refaeli - you can get the part.
The music schools in here are not better than fine .

Now I'm looking for maybe studying abroad - US, Uk.
I've been singing with a vocal coach like 4 years or so, but it's not serious enough. I'm still trying to "Feel my voice". I have no classical training.

So my questions are :
1. what schools are out there that can prepare me for Broadway?
2. Is classical training is a must? Cause I really want to learn how to belt, and mix , speech level singing.
3. what degree show i aim for ?

I really want to be prepaid , broadway is my dream.

Hello,
Three of the top musical theatre schools in the US are carnegie mellon, cincinatti conservatory, and the university of michigan. each school has wonderful programs and has alumni that are working on or around Broadway. That being said, there are a lot of great schools for musical theatre and they all will provide great training.

There are also terrific schools in London. But if Broadway is your goal - and you have to remember that Broadway is only one location for performing and that most actors rarely appear there, even successful ones - then training in the US may be better. Be careful of schools with really large classes that cost a lot of money.

You can get excellent training by signing up for private acting, dance and vocal lessons for less than college tuition. And you will have freedom to audition. LA, Chicago or New York would be good places.

Get your rep together, which is like your book of audition songs cut into 32-bar sections to sing for auditions. I use a song I bought for myself on thesongforyou.com because casting directors kept asking to hear a more rangey song (to show off both top and bottom of my voice). I couldn't find one like that, so I bought a song written for my voice Music colleges and programs Wasn't cheap, but oh so worth it lol. My other cut is always from a standard musical to show contrast. Hope that sorta helps. Break legs
